I've just updated Firefox to 136.0 and found the "return closed tab" key became blank and ineffective. I read the update log but didn't find infomation about this change. The function was useful to me and I hope to get it back.

I love using the sidebar button (not the permanent vertical sidebar, but the button in the main toolbar that pops up a sidebar when I want it).

However, I want it to default to Synced Tabs, but it always defaults to Bookmarks whenever I restart Firefox. I already have a bookmarks toolbar, and don't need them in the sidebar.

Is there a setting somewhere that would let me set the default to Synced Tabs?

Hi,

On my "new tab" page, the "add a shortcut" button is missing. I can pin, unpin, move, and dismiss shortcuts freely, but only those which automatically appear. Unfortunately the page I'd like to pin is not in the auto-generated shortcuts list (even expanded to 4 lines). It is in my recently bookmarked pages, but the context menu there does not allow adding it to the shortcuts. I use Windows, Nightly 138.0a1 (2025-03-13) (64-bit).

Thanks for any help, Pat

I use a lot of containers (love this extension!) and have an improvement suggestion.

It would be helpful if the entire tab was colored, rather than just the little line at the top. I have a hard time seeing the line and distinguishing between similar colors.

For context, I have to log into multiple email and website accounts for work. The tab descriptions are often the same (for example, I'll have 3 or 4 google accounts open and they all say "Gmail" or "Admin console") so I have to click on each to find the right one since the colored line is hard for me to see.

Before update I have tree style tabs extension, that organized tabs and show it as list in left side of screen. And this was ideal setup for me. But new sidebar broke this. It Have rudimentary vertical tabs, that missed main feature from tree style tabs extension. But I cant hide this sidebar, because it also hide tree style tabs.

I am using Firefox 136.0 on a Macbook running Sonoma 14.5 & on a MacMini running Sequoia 15.3.1. When doing a search using the Google search engine in Firefox if I click on a result it no longer opens in a new tab, instead it just opens it in the same tab. If I right click on the result & select "Open in a new tab" it does. I experimented with using Yahoo search engine (which I hate) & new results still open in a new tab. I assume others are experiencing this problem when using Google search with Firefox since it is happening on both my Macbook & my MacMini. Anybody know if this a settings issue or is there a problem with the software?

/edit: moved thread from Firefox for iOS to Firefox section as you have macOS.
