I've finished setting up the S/MIME encryption in Thunderbird, and imported all the certificates needed. When people with the certificates emailed me, I could receive and read all the emails. However, when I replied to the same people, I got the error message saying 'End-to-end encryption requires resolving cerficiate issues'. My colleagues imported the same certificates without any issues. Do you have any suggestions for me to solve the issue? Thank you very much!

I am encountering an increasing number of sites that don't work with Firefox but do work with Chrome. I have tried turning off add-ins without success. Is there a way I can easily reset Firefox to its initial state and then return it back.

I had a power outage and when it came back on, Firefox asked me to log in and restored everything except my saved passwords. I had a lot of saved passwords and none of them were restored. I tried to resync and nothing.

I restored some of the ones I remember, but many of those passwords were generated by Firefox itself, so I have no idea what they look like.

Is there any way to recover them?

OS: Windows 10 (64 bit) Thunderbird 128.10.1esr (32bit)

I have used Thunderbird without issue for a few years. Today, my inboxes are partially full and emails have mysteriously disappeared. I opened it in safe mode and all the emails are there. I followed help suggestions to disable extensions and addons. The emails have not returned to my inboxes but still appear in safe mode.

I am not a techie and find this very challenging.

I get an error saying Thuderbird is already running and old instance needs to be closed. When I press the Close button I keep getting the same error message in a loop. I have to cancel and come out. However I am not able to access the mailbox using THuderbird. The problem is that there are some folders that I have created on Thunderbird with sensitive information that I am not able to access. What should I do to retrieve the Thunderbird and the associated mails and folders. Thanks for the support. Suresh

I have been using Firefox for many years now and I have always been greatly satisfied with its stability, performance and features. However with the last couple of releases something has changed. The number of tabs I keep open and what they are connected to have changed very little over the years. The CPU utilization has never been much but now it has become huge - utilizing multiple CPU cores and running them at 100% whether I am using the browser or not. I have gone thru each individual tab/web page removing it, waiting for a period of time and them re-adding it assuming this was a website coding issue. Nothing changed. So I gave up and move 98% of my web browsing to another browser (Opera) - moving one website at a time until what was left on Firefox was 11 tabs. Finally the CPU utilization went away. I got the latest Firefox version update today, installed it and now Firefox has changed behavior yet again. Those same 11 tabs will not use any CPU as long as I keep Firefox open and visible on screen, but if I minimize the Firefox window it immediately jumps up in CPU utilization. This makes no sense to me.

What adds to all this frustration is I am running on a system76 Thelio desktop. While extremely fast they have a known issue with their somewhat loud CPU cooling fan kicking in too fast when high CPU utilization occurs. Firefox never used to cause the fans to run but now the latest couple of versions cause the fan to run continuously.

 My apologies if I have run on with too much info that is of no help.  If anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated and I would be happy to test.  FYI, my OS is up to date, Firefox is up to date, BIOS is up to date, I have restarted Firefox many times and I have rebooted several times.  I thought Mint might be the issue so I loaded Pop-Os and tried it with the same results.  Btw neither Opera or Brave shows the problem.  However I would prefer to use Firefox as I really like the features - especially how it handles tabs and grouping them.

Hello, I have a problem with creating messages. The new message button does not respond to clicking (the same with file > create > message). You can reply to messages normally. Please advise how to fix the problem.

I've tried unchecking things in settings without success to stop Thunderbird from automatically collecting email when it launches. I need to be in complete control of when Thunderbird collects email from the server. Could this be a Windows 11 issue? Thanks for any help you can give me.

When I run Thunderbird release 138.0.2 64-bit, the Inbox is empty, even when I click the "tree" icon to fetch new e-mails. Instead, a side-popping message box displays "Connection to server pop.orange.fr was reset". Please advise. The Orange messaging service works properly, so why shouldn't Thunderbird?

Hi, I have had to re-set an email account as the servers updated, but I cannot send. I have done what I was told on the set up, and TB has found it and I can receive emails from others, but when I try to send, I get an error message saying "OK IMAP4 Ready". Tried deleting it and starting again, but still the same.

I want to move thunderbird data to a new computer. Whan i install Thunderbird in new computer in Roaming is not showing Thunderbird nor Profiles so I can not copy data , just saying: C:Users\LENOVO\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\uyo5m2az.default-esr is not available? Data that I am copiing from old computer are thunderbird/128.10.1 while in new comuper downloaded insallation is /128.9.2?

I need to print a pop up but Firefox will not allow the pop up. I read all of the instructions, including going to Privacy and Settings, but that tab does not exist. I can access it under the Browsing tab. I also read there are advanced setting by entering about:config in the address bar, this doesn’t work either. Im running latest IOS and have talked to Apple about it and they have concluded it is a browser issue. Please advise. Steve
