How do I turn off the automated upgrade notification?

At home I run MAC v 10.4. The new firefox requires 10.5. If I accidentally click the upgrade button for firefox, the upgrade occurs and then since it doesn't function on my MAC version I have to reload the old firefox version again which is not that easy to find. I would like to turn off the continuous upgrade notification on my MAC unless you plan on supporting MAC V. 10.4 in the near future.
