When I use Firefox 3.6 browser to download email attachments, and open them in MS Word 2010 program, I cannot save the documents. Why does this conflict occur, when I had no problem when using MS Word 2003?

Everytime I download MS word documents in Firefox browser, since upgrading to MS Office 2010, I cannot save the documents. I am able to save them with MS Internet Explorer browser. I have spent several days on the phone with MS techs and now this seems to be the issue. They recommended that I contact Mozilla to ask if they know of a conflict between Firefox browser and MS Office 2010 and specifically MS Word 2010.
