There are three problems, all related, that are frustrating me with Firefox on Android. I have a Samsung Galaxy 24+. I am trying to get Firefox to use a local HTML file that are my bookmarks, but I am stymied at every turn:

1) when I click on the local, Galaxy, HTML file, I get the standard "Open with" pop up, but they only list: Chrome, HTML View, Android's Internet browser, and Samsung Print Services. Why doesn't Firefox show up there? This is important to me. Is Firefox failing to register its browser properly in Galaxy products?

2) The next thing I try to do is to sync bookmarks so that I can use my hundreds of bookmarks (rather than adding them into Firefox one at a time). So, I click on the famous three vertical dots and there is no "Sync" function in that menu, see attached. So I cannot import my bookmarks from my PC's bookmarks.

3) Thirdly, I try to type into the URL field what Chrome uses to access local files, which is for example: "content://media/external/file/1000005061" but Firefox android does not recognize that. When I change it to "file://media/external/file/1000005061" that does not work either.

Can you fix the three issues above? Thanks. Rick. see attached.

I just finished setting up my new pc with Windows 11 (Feb 2023 updates) and installed Firefox 110.0.1) and wanted to transfer my logins, passwords, etc, from my Android 12 Phone's Firefox 110.1.0, and other pcs. A window popped up giving instructions how to sync my phone, as follow:

      • Sync Firefox on you phone or tablet. 1) open Firefox on your Mobile Device. 2) Go to the menu (<ios>&<android>menu examples shown) and tap sync and save data. 3. Tap ready to scan and hold your phone over this code.***

I'm 73, have used Firefox since first release in 2004. In all these years I have never seen SYNC in the instructions to "sync and save and to point the phone at a barcode-thingy" or at least not in this world. The instructions made it seem like SYNC was right there to see, but I had to dig thru layes of options to finally find it. You can blaim it on my 73 yr old brain, I guess, but nothing like these instructions exist in Windows or Android firfox. What in the world are your programmers smokin' these days. I would just as soon open up Edge or Chrome and did up the passwords I need to log into my banking and creditcard accounts...heck, it seems like MAYBE I should just dump Firefox after almost 20 years and just use those other browsers. At least there instructions are much simpler that this ol' man can follow. Please have someone review your published helps info on your webpages, and help those Sr. citizens like me to more easily find what we need without calling up grandsons or granddaughters for help (their parents are worse than I am at most techy stuff!) Ive collected an insane amount of pages in collections on my android phone. After syncing this and opening Firefox on a PC which does not understand collections I've lost all these links. Is this by design? I had such a nice recipe for potato asparagus salad which now is lost forever.

Maybe I am blind and wise developers already have this option but I doubt it!! and my obvious question is how in the world I have to sync all my collection list of web pages ???? and pinned sites ??? why this is so hard for a dev brain to understand that if you made a option for storing weblinks so should be a way of saving all this !!!! VERY OBVIOUS THING !!but in 2023 we still have problems losing bookmarks and other data !!! because of horible app design (not UI) !! im in the process in moving to new phone and I'm stuck because I don't see a way of saving all my old phone to ne without deleting lot of info or with lot of manual work to copy at least something and this is 2023 !!!

First off it set the search bar and menu at the bottom of the screen and I didn't know how to change that. Then I couldn't sync with all my account passwords and bookmarks previously saved on other apps. I had to delete the app because the idea of privacy is great and all but I need to get access to my preferred websites and accounts easily. If you can provide an easy fix I will give the app another try.

Thanks.

Hello there,

I have a problem with firefox sync. I moved to Firefox from Opera and moved the passwords to the account but it does not sync with Android. I do have lots of passwords saved to the account but firefox sync does not sync them on my device. I tried clearing cache, reinstalling, relogin, all 3 at once, even restarting the phone in between but still no password is synced.

Regards, Wojciech

Pretty simple. On my phone's FF, Settings=>Bookmarks=>Desktop Bookmarks=>Bookmarks Toolbar doesn't match what I set on my PC.

On my PC, I have deleted one bookmark that remains on my phone, and added two that do not appear. To the best of my searching, the bookmarks don't appear anywhere else on the phone.

I have SYNCed and signed out of my Android and signed back in.

Thoughts?

I've been deleting my saved passwords in Firefox, after migrating to a standalone password manager. It's been anything but easy (deletions are not synced, and bulk deletion process is inconvenient to say the least).

What worries me is that my "deleted" passwords kept coming back as soon as I enabled Sync, until I realised I had duplicate devices in my Mozilla account control panel. I still have, though, some other connected services (Add-ons, Mozilla Support, Mozilla Monitor...).

Is what I've done enough to ensure they're gone? Where exactly are synced passwords stored, and how can I be sure that they aren't lying around in a Mozilla server, awaiting a future data breach? I don't have the time and energy to change 200+ passwords.

my usernames and passwords are not syncing....i have all my passwords and usernames saved on my pc....and I’ve synced all passwords and logins and can view them on both devices. ‘Autofill in Firefox’ and ‘Autofill in other apps’ are both on. But, when logging in to apps on the Samsung, autofill doesn’t work. Even if I fill in my email address, there is no password suggestion. Instead, a small dropdown message appears: ‘unlock Firefox’. It isn’t active, and doesn’t open anything when I tap on it. Result: I have to go looking for the passwords and fill them in manually. I hope there’s a solution. thank u in advance for your help. LL
