Firefox Info: Version 107.0.1 Build ID 20221128144904 OS Windows 11

Specs: i7 13700k 32GB DDR5 Ram GTX 1080ti

Basically, I'm dropping frames when I'm tabbed into a game, in my instance it's World of Warcraft, but it could be with other games too. I suspect it's something to do with Windows 11 as I didn't have any problems in Windows 10 with my older computer.

Some trouble shooting steps I've taken is I've disabled all extensions, ran the browser in troubleshooting mode, and finally done a Firefox refresh and I still have the same problem.

I am running Firefox 107.0.1 (64 bit) on a Dell Inspiron i7 10th gen with 12 GB RAM. Windows Edition Windows 11 Home Version 22H2 Installed on ‎11/‎1/‎2022 OS build 22621.819 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22636.1000.0

Recently have had new issue with websites, like the NYTimes, which run live video embedded in the site. The entire screen will go black and cannot be retrieved. But the system is not down, I can toggle to another application, and then when I go back to the Firefox, I can "save" it by quickly selecting a different tab. If I wait a few seconds, however, the offending tab will crash again. The other symptom is that after this happens, the entire screen in any application seems to be unstable, with transient fuzziness of the fonts, just a for a few seconds, whenever the focus of the screen is moved or changed.

This problem does not occur in "Troubleshoot Mode", but I have gone through all the recommended step by step eliminations of possible plug ins, extensions, Norton, firewalls, refreshes, start up cache clearing, cookie clearing, to no avail. Cannot find discussion of this problem in Support. I do not experience the problem if I run the offending website in Edge. Any suggestions most appreciated, txs!

Bookmarks disapear as soon as I start typing a new title

I have an on going problem with Firefox. Sometimes when I go to save a new bookmark, as soon as I start typing, the new bookmark vanish. I then have to go into bookmarks menu, find the new bookmark which may be titled "No Title" or just a "small square" and re-title it. As I start typing the first letter of the new Title. The typed letter appears on my screen and quickly vanishes. I have to retype the first letter again and then it works correctly. I have tried many things to fix this. Emptying Firefox cache, Refreshing Firefox many times, Running Windows 11 clean up corrupt files, making sure there is no spy wear of bad files on the computer. I have reinstalled Firefox many times but the problem quickly returns. ( I have wondered if something on my computer is corrupting Firefox, but I cant think, or find out, what it my be.) I have run the program Restoro many times which claims to correct problems but it doesn't fix this one. Had a technician look at it, but his advise was to contact Mozilla. The problem does not always happen and is worse when I first turn the computer on. It plays up on the first new Bookmark I make and then sometimes works correctly. My Bookmark folder is very large and contains much information in a Book, Chapter, Paragraph, Sentence structure. Has anyone experience this problem and how did they fix it? I use a dedicated Solid-state drive for my bookmarks and according to Samsung Magician it is working correctly.

   We're having trouble playing Netflix. Please make sure you're using the latest version of Firefox and try again. I deleted and downloaded the latest version of Firefox browser last night. Turned off laptop overnight and re-started it again this am. No change on Netflix Error msg. Netflix still works on my tv however. So I believe there is a problem with FIREFOX!!

Firefox is the only application affected (latest 107.0.1, Windows 11 pro latest updates). I have updated all drivers, run system and memory checks, uninstalled deleted remaining files and registry settings, twice actually all to no avail.

I have recently changed ISP but cannot see how that affects just Firefox (Chrome/Opera/Edge all work) and also moved to Bit Defender antivirus. Here I think I saw startup installations in Chrome etc for bit defender but never for Firefox. I have tried turning off all virus web protection still no joy.

I have looked briefly at the crash reports but with my level of expertise I can see no common crash reason.

I have had no add-ins installed for last week while trying to get this to work again. I have used Firefox for years and have no wish to move to another browser but this situation is driving me nuts.

If there is anybody out there with any ideas on next steps I could take?

Firefox has just started crashing on startup every time I try to open it out of the blue with no changes to anything in the browser. I've tried opening in troubleshooting mode, still crashes instantly. I've refreshed, revo uninstalled and cleaned everything firefox related off my system and reinstalled but still have the exact same issue with a fresh install.


I managed to get the crash log from the backed up folders when it reinstalled. Any suggestions?

I am unable to log on to my Synology Diskstation 220+ using the Firefox browser. The device is accessed through my local IP address. I have no trouble using the Microsoft Edge browser. This problem has existed for several months and I cannot figure it out. On Firefox I have checked the ad blocker and disabled it. I tried clearing the cache. I would appreciate any ideas people could suggest. Thanks.

I've had this issue for a while; I'm don't know what's causing it, as it's a very vague error that can be 'missing extension' to 'true needs to be 0xFF instead of 1 for bool values'.

I grabbed the source, and built a copy, and was stepping through accessing a custom built chain; I got a different error, this time I got SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER. Which just means I didn't add the root cert to firefox(?) Yes, after adding the root, it connects just fine. Which lead me to think 'great next firefox it won't be an issue'... but wait, 107.0.1 release does have the error still; so, I checked out FIREFOX_107_0_1_RELEASE and built that. Again it worked....

So what can be the difference between building a debug release branch version and the released version of firefox that causes a difference interpreting certificates?

I have no issues with chrome or edge (although I did fix a issue with chrome that chrome stopped working, and I fixed 1 to 0xFF for a boolean setting in BASIC_USAGE extension, and then chrome was happy again.

https://bingodemos.com/ as it is currently configured fails. With SEC_ERROR_EXTENSION_VALUE_INVALID error I don't see a way to even see the cert chain, with the above unknown issuer, I can at least see the certificates with more information.

Hi! under accounts.firefox.com/settings the language displayed is Norwegian Nynorsk even though i have set Norwegian Bokmål as my prefered language in the Firefox browser settings. I couldn't find a separate language setting on the accounts.firefox.com/settings page so im guessing this a bug/oversight/mixup when the browser attempts to look up the preferred language set in the browser?

Norwegian has two official written standards Bokmål and Nynorsk.

I have 3 monitors on my Windows 11 PC set to extended mode. I would like to display Firefox across the 2 adjacent screens on the left (leaving the third screen on the right for other display). I want to run one web application, one tab, no other websites, etc in this Firefox displayed on the 2 screens. Of course that is easy to setup, but when I close Firefox (either using the X or exit button), Firefox initially reopens on both the original screens, but then reverts to the left screen only. Is there anyway to set Firefox to always open across the 2 monitors please? Thank you, Bruce

I have been using Firefox for my Yahoo email for several years. Yesterday afternoon, it stopped working correctly. Only the most recent 10 or so emails are shown in each folder and the rest are greyed out. It no longer allows me to select mail settings and I cannot send emails. My email was still fully functional using Chrome, so I'm not sure the problem involves any changes in the Yahoo site. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, is there a fix?

So I have my FireFox settings set to always be in private browsing mode and it hasn't caused me any issues with anything but Netflix. I've tried every solution that Netflix recommends for this error code, I tried changing the IndexedDB permissions in private browsing, I tried disabling DuckDuckGo and TotalAdBlocker extensions but so far the only thing I've found that fixes the problem is to open a non-private browsing window. Is there any way to get Netflix to work in a private browsing window so that my history won't be tracked??

I've attached a screenshot of the Netflix error screen if that helps.
