why have my add-ons been disabled in firefox 55.0.3? i have not updated firefox because i would lose several of the most useful add-ons. using windows 7 w/ the latest updates. THE LOSS OF MY TAB GROUPINGS AND SAVED PASSWORD EDITOR IS AN UNMITIGATED DISASTER! I might as well use the crap from microsoft. they also have the "big brother" attitude - i.e. WE will decide what you want and don't and there's not a g.d. thing you can do about it, ha, ha! PLEASE don't keep this condensing attitude! i need something to help, not hinder, my every move online.

I am currently using Firefox 55.0.3 (64-bit).
Yes, I know it's not secure. I don't care.
Yes, I have looked for replacements for each of these these add-ons. I found none.
Yes, I turned off updates. Yes, I turned off "Use a background service to install updates". Firefox still updated to 56.
I have replaced the Firefox utility "updater.exe" with a program that does nothing. Will that stop updates from occurring? If not, what else can I do?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have Firefox set never to remember cookies except for a few select sites and to erase cookies and internet history upon closing the browser. Indeed, the sites outside my whitelist have always acted as if cookies are disabled for them (giving "you must enable cookies" if I attempt to log in, etc.). I also am required to re-log in to whitelisted sites after relaunching the browser, of course.
However, I just ran CCleaner, and its deletion log listed over 1400 Firefox cookies, a great many from sites I haven't visited in months. Apparently, Firefox's "never store cookies" option either isn't working due to a glitch or just doesn't work period, appearing to the user not to store cookies but just storing and not deleting them anyway.
1. Does Firefox just save cookies anyhow no matter your preferences, or is this a glitch? If it is a glitch, how do I resolve it? 2. Where is the age-old cookie information that CCleaner deleted stored, so I can delete it manually in the future?
(Note: Yes, I know about CCleaner's privacy concerns, but that's beside this particular point.)
Thanks in advance for any help.

I have autosaved my username and password for a banking website and my pocket wifi login page. I want to remove it so I can't automatically sign in. I went to Options, Security, Saved Logins and removed the websites. However, the two websites are both still autofilling the login details. They no longer appear under Saved Logins. I've also tried adding the websites as an 'Exception' but this hasn't worked either. I've tried closing Firefox and restarting but it hasn't fixed the problem.

I tried going into the about:config, but the only entries under "print.print_" were only for Epson; Brother doesn't even show up. My new printer is a Brother, but a quick search turned up nothing with "brother" in it, even though it does show up as the non-default printer in the drop-down window. I want to have the Brother printer come up as the default printer, but can't find anyway to do it. I have checked the support pages and searched, but found nothing that seemed to apply. I'm still using Firefox 55.0.3 as the later versions don't support the "open tabs from last time" add-on and that is a great time-saver and organizer for me. I am using Windows 7. Thanks! Wolfgang P.s.: I have the Brother printer set up as the default in my Windows Control Panel. I also tried restarting the computer.

Hi all,
Firefox has been updating itself successfully over the past year, but today when I followed the most recent update (I think I had version 60.8 prior to the update), it didn't restart. When I tried running it using the command line, I got the error message:
firefox: symbol lookup error: libxul.so: undefined symbol: dbus_validate_bus_name
For now, I reverted back to an old version (55).
Any tips on how to resolve this problem?
I'm using firefox on linux 32bit with Fedora 17
Thanks!

I access an Invision Forum v4.3.5 and I am able to Resize an attached graphic in a Personal Message or in a Thread Post. That is until Today.
I can't resize the graphic in FF v64.02 So I went to my notebook where I still use FF v55.03. I had no problem editing the size of a GIF . I click once on the graphic where I get the ability to stretch the graphic size either larger or smaller.
So I tried to downgrade FF. I went from v64.0.2 to 64.0 with no difference. I then downgraded again to v60.0.2 but that was unstable and crashed FF on every launch
So I am back on FF v64.0.2 on my desktop. If I click on the graphic to the right, I can not "stretch" or "compress" its size. If I double-click on it I get a dialogue. I can decrease ( compress ) its size but I can not increase ( stretch ) its size past its default pixel size.
Therefore I did a test on a Virgin PC ( Win8.1/64 but tested using only Firefox Win32 installers )
I installed Firefox v56 and tested the resize capability and I incrementally upgraded and tested Firefox 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62 and v63 and all were able to be Resize a given graphic.
It was when I installed Firefox v64 that the ability to Resize a graphic failed.
I guess I never noticed it on my Desktop until Today when I updated it to v64.02 and tried it.
