Have never seen two Mozilla browser downloads at the same time on the list of computer programs. 33.0.3 showing 77.4 MB size while 33.1 has blown up to 155 MB. Ironically, that 155 figure is basically 77.4 multiplied twice... Two browser downloads on the program list at the same time - huh?

Hello.

I have two online banking plugins that I want to stay on "ask to activate" mode (value 1 for "plugin.state.npsf_bb" and "plugin.state.npsf_abn" preferences in about:config) but somehow manage to set themselves back to "always activate" (value 2 for the preferences) every single time I restart Firefox.

I had posted this problem before (here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1019124) and even found an acceptable solution, which is was to use the CCK Wizard addon (https://addons.mozilla.org/pt-BR/firefox/addon/cck/) to make an addon (XPI file) for the sole purpose of locking those two preferences and then install it. That really worked, but eventually I found that it was this custom-made addon what was causing malfunctioning in many Google services (couldn't use Drive, nor create new events in Calendar, etc.). So now I am back searching a new solution.

Since the solution was to simply lock those two preferences, I looked for a direct way of doing it and found this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences, which I followed through. I created a mozilla.cfg file with these contents:

// lockPref("plugin.state.npsf_abn", 1); lockPref("plugin.state.npsf_bb", 1);

and moved it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox. Then created a local-settings.js file, with these contents:

// pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");

And placed it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref.

Then I restarted Firefox, hoping it would work, but it didn't. Did I do something wrong? Or maybe are these instructions outdated regarding newer versions of Firefox?

I need help here, please...

PS.: there seems to be no option to format or embed code here and, to make it worse, this form collapses what I have pasted as the contents of the two files. The first one has three lines: the first is //, the second is lockPref("plugin.state.npsf_abn", 1); and the third is lockPref("plugin.state.npsf_bb", 1);. The second one has two lines: the first is //, the second is pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");.

When doing research i will see possibly useful sites and bookmark them. However when i start another FF session it seems as though the number of "Recently Bookmarked" entries is limited to 8 entries or so. Is there a way to increase the available "Recently Bookmarked" entries until I have had time (across multiple FF sessions) to determine which bookmarks to keep ?

my mozilla crashes even while on safe, I did disabled the add ons, I did re installed, I tried to find it this happened after some download, and run a malware software through several times. The first time I tried with safe, it lasted longer, I noticed a couple of times, that when I tried a new page I would not get the home page (which I listed as Google ) but got yahoo, so went looking for some strange software in the control panel, I did remove several that I barely used, but did not find anthing suspicious. Here is a copy of the report from today Crash ID: bp-c337a86b-ebc0-42f4-bf7c-c63942141111

I understand sponsored content and tiles - I want to only see tiles that I want to see. That does *not* include sponsored content. I would rather pay for Firefox than have ads fed to my desktop - it is my favorite browser to use and develop on. How can I deactivate sponsored tiles, aside from setting up an actual URL block in GreaseMonkey or similar?

Because of an unresolved issue with my ISP and their email program (won't keep me logged in) it has been suggested that I reinstall Firefox which I think is a bit drastic. My question is this- would I be better off using the reset feature of uninstall Firefox and do a clean install? I know that either way I will have to reinstall ad ons , plug ins and probably other stuff. So if it were you which option would you take? Thanks Bob

I am running Firefox 33.1 & I am getting a message advising "Update failed."

When I attempt to download the latest version, it hangs (for as long as 8 to 10+ hours) and does nothing.

Following a system failure, I was able to recover my Favorites (from a back up that I had (prior to the system crash.))
