After updating to Firefox 27 all webpages take a few dozen seconds to several minutes to load. When loading a webpage Firefox's status displays "connecting" and the CPU gets maxed out with 95 to 100% of its cycles taking by Firefox.

The computer is older so it is a little slow but Internet Explorer 8 has no trouble opening the webpages and neither do other computers on the LAN so it is not a network issue. I have tried restarting Firefox, disabling add-ons, deleting add-ons, disabling hardware acceleration, restarting the computer, and reinstalling Firefox after wiping every trace of it and its user data from the hard drive and registry.

CPU: AMD Athlon 2800+ 2.08GHz RAM: 1GB OS: Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 32bit

I have to upload the images.

when browsing images for the same I am making firefox to look into E/Folder1/A1.

E contains Folder1

Folder contains folders A1, A2, A3, and so on.

Each folder contains each image.

After uploading the image from A1, I have to upload the image from A2,

When I browse for the same, firefox will look into the recently used folder.

I do not want this. Instead firefox should look into E/Folder1 by default always and not into E/Folder1/A1

How to do this?

Hi,

Im running into this bug since i did a fresh install of Windows to 8.1

Since im on windows 8.1 facebook wont play youtube videos in any timeline, it simply opens a new tab, directs me to youtube and starts playing there.. (realy annoying)

It starts to load but opens the video in a new tab instead of showing the video in the timeline itself.

- Im on firefox 26. - Ive debugged facebook, - Reset settings of firefox - Reinstalled Flash player 12 (even tested 11,7 & 11,9) - Ive tried IE + Chrome - Disabled / Enabled ActiveX in IE - Disabled / Enabled hardware acceleration in flash settings - Installed Realplayer - Installed Shockwave - Went thru various troubleshooters on the forums

I dont know what to do anymore.. any suggestions?

Thanks,

I've been using firefox for a really really long time, i notice that it is happining when I use any flash video , website, game especialy when enter to youtube , i got these shockwave errors. I can't recall downloading anything and I must have uninstalled and reinstalled the flash player at least many times. It's honestly starting to frustrate me. I love firefox, but if the browser refuses to work, I probably won't be using it for much longer. I tried every thing that I found in this forum but it is unusefull to me .

I noticed that when Firefox starts up, wmiprvse.exe appears in the task manager, and the process terminates its self if it isn't terminated manually. I've noticed that wmiprvse.exe didn't start when Firefox starts up until the 27.0 update for Firefox. My question is, is it normal and safe for wmiprvse.exe to start when Firefox starts up?, and if it is normal and safe, why exactly is it that wmiprvse.exe starts up every time when Firefox starts up? It seems suspicious that a Windows process would be starting every time a Mozilla browser is ran. I also tried running Internet Explorer, and I didn't notice wmiprvse.exe in the task manager when Internet Explorer was ran, so it appears to be an issue isolated to Firefox. I even tried left clicking Restart with Add-ons Disabled, and that didn't fix the problem. I also tried unchecking Update Add-ons Automatically as well as turning off data sharing in Firefox Health Report, and neither of those things fixed the problem. Additionally, I tried restarting my computer as well as shutting down my computer and turning it back on, and the mentioned issue still persisted. I even tried unplugging my modem and having it disconnected from power for a while as well as enabling and disabling my network adapter and repairing the connection, and that didn't solve the problem either. I've also scanned for malicious software, and none was found, so that doesn't appear to be the problem. It also seems like Firefox takes longer to start up. Thank you for taking time to read my post , and also hopefully Mozilla can use this post as feedback so unanswered concerns and questions such as mine won't go unanswered for 27.0 and future versions of Firefox. The OS I'm using is Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 .

Firefox updated itself automatically from the previous version to version 27. I repeat, it did everything by itself. Since then, even when only one page/tab is open, it is very, very slow to change pages (say, from inbox to open an e-mail), frequently whites out, refuses to scroll, or scrolls a line only when the wheel is rotated several times, and often refuses to open pages without several refreshes. I have used Firefox for many years, and this is the first time I have had such problems. (Internet Explorer does not have these issues). It seems to be getting worse day by day. (Pages failing to load until refreshed started within the past week, and now it is happening more than 50% of the time.) I am going blind, and this is just becoming terribly frustrating. If the version has so many bugs, why was it released? (I am running Windows 7, with everything up-to-date. I have not changed any settings, and, as mentioned above, Firefox worked perfectly before the automatic update to version 27 installed itself a couple of weeks ago.)

Prior to the last couple of weeks, once in awhile after closing Firefox and attempting to relaunch it, I would get an error message that it was still running and I had to close it before I could relaunch it. The last 2 weeks this happens just about every other time. I'd like to figure out if I have a setting that's bad or if recent Firefox updates caused this to increase or what. If anyone can help, I'd be greatful.

Thanks.

I don't just surf the internet for fun it's my living so I'm going to have to start using Google Chrome instead.

What a waste of time.

There appears to be a common problem with the latest versions of FF (26/27) entering text into text boxes (like this one). Email (yahoo) is particularly frustrating.

The probelm is most appearent using the cursors to navigate around existing text. If I hold down the right or left arrow the speed at which the cursor moves is frustratingly slow and the CPU use goes to 100%. I don't get any of these problems with Chrome/ IE or Opera.

I've tried all of the normally reset firefox, hardware acceleration on/off, safe mode. None makes much difference. The problem does not appear to be present on Linux.

I'm running Win XP SP3 Home. Generally well patched and maintained and I don't generally have any performance problems.

I can't load properly Souncloud.com , it keeps telling me that Something went wrong , but with Firefox the problem lately is about everywhere , many buttons on websites are blocked , can't click them , I just use latest firefox 27, ghostery and just so , nothing further . But also since version 22 Firefox keeps crashing when too many tabs are opened and flash websites with videos are in loading .

Or The firefox Support is going to help or this browser is going to be buried in the ash of the cyber history.

It's a pledge .

I want to turn off the quick links from the recent 9-box layout that was added to firefox. It used to be just bookmark links, but now it's quite obvious that there is some sort of internet activity that occurs as those box links load. And Firefox is now using 210mb on a single tab.

If there is no way of turning that off, then i'm just going to find an older version of firefox and run it for the time being, because I just want no part of those box links working that way.

So if someone would be so kind to tell me how to turn it off, and not just hide the function, it would be appreciated.

For the past 1.5 weeks, I have been unable to get Facebook to display properly. It almost seems like it isn't pulling the CSS in. To be clear, this is happening on all of the browsers I have tried (Firefox, Chrome and Safari) on this one computer.

I am running: Windows 7 Firefox 27.0.1

Here are the things I have tried that have not worked:

  • Clock is set to the correct time
  • Clearing cookies & cache
  • Reset DNS
  • Start in Safe Mode (it still occurs in Safe Mode)
  • Disable Plug Ins
  • Uninstall and Re-Install Firefox, Java and Shockwave
  • Scan system for MalWare / Ad Blockers / etc.
  • Reset Firefox
  • Reload Webpage to Bypass Cache (Shift + Reload)
