I've been trying to connect to discord for a while, left it on for 2 hours and hasnt loaded. when i opened the console log, all it said was "Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at wss://gateway.discord.gg/?encoding=json&v=9&compress=zlib-stream" all over. Please help.

In numerous cases i have found not to be beneficial when website's search function is activated on Ctrl+F keyboard shortcut and where is better to use regular Firefox on-page search instead. I think that the good site has search button/area visible so i can use it when needed.

So please how to disable Firefox's search (Ctrl + F keyboard shortcut) to activate website's internal search? I want to always use regular Firefox on-page search that i now trigger by left Alt (to show the FF menu), click Edit menu, click Find in page.... (since Ctrl+F is occupied by website's internal search).

It looks as though installing this 115.10 ESR will be a "new Install" instead of an update.

1) Will I lose my bookmarks, settings, passwords, ect? (My bookmarks have been collecting for years....)

2) If I try this will creating a restore point return me back to the way I was before the attempt?

Sorry, posted recently and had then trouble finding out how to respond to help offered (jscher2000)! Noticed that the email version was "no-reply" so I didn't figure that would work! So, I tried to 'cut and paste' my reply (on a smartphone) and I ended up losing even the email reply text so here is a reconstruction. I tried the suggestions in order and the first one didn't have a "Restore previous session" option and the second one had "Recently closed windows" greyed out! And, when I entered "about.support" in the address bar (top rightish), I received a notice that I couldn't reach Google (Remember that I don't currently have internet access on my laptop). So, no joy there either! Can I not just change some current setting to prevent Firefox v 115.9lesr from saving the current 'Windows' and Tabs so that, when I again open Firefox, the previous session 'Windows' and Tabs would be used?!?

The blinking screen is on ebay but it just keeps on blinking. I have tried other programs and it only happens with this one and only with ebay. Thoughts?

I recently updated to 125.0.1 and now get 'failed to check for updates': - when I manually check (help > about Firefox) (see image) - in 'settings' it also shows 'failed to check for updates' (see image) I never had such a problem with previous versions; any suggestions?

I have Windows 11 and Firefox 124.0.2. Firefox keeps asking to reinstall. I think it is because I keep getting the message that it fails to check for updates. I don't know if I have installed the Microsoft Firefox or the direct Mozilla Firefox downloaded. Maybe that is the problem, but I am not tech savvy. I have used Firefox for many years and like it. I am also too old (83) to deal with these problems. Help!

I am using theme called WhiteSur to imitate Safari, as that is the browser layout I prefer. However, this doesn't change the position of the close tab button and leaves it on the right hand side. I found a way to change it, using the code .tabbrowser-tab .tab-close-button {

 margin-right: 2.5px !important;

} Unfortunately, this doesn't change based on the size of the tab, so if I set it to a size that is good for only having 1 tab, it will look bad or be off the screen for the other amounts of tabs. Is there a way to detect the width of the tab or the amount of tabs open and dynamically set the margins based off of this? So I could set it as (width-of-tab)-x and that would always keep the close tab button in the same spot, regardless of tab size. Thanks!

The latest updated to Firefox for Mac (125.0.2) has completely scrambled accessing my bookmarks. Before the update I could type T in the search bar and up popped the URL for The Globe and Mail; or N and the URL for the New York Times popped up. (This works because no other bookmark begins with these letters.) Both are in my Toolbar (no bookmarks have actually changed or disappeared with the update). Now when I type T, a completely different URL turns up, plus a drop-down menu of other URLs randomly selected from any of my bookmark lists IN WHICH A T APPEARS ANYWHERE in it; and when I type N, a website I've NEVER EVEN SEEN BEFORE (name.com) shows up, plus a drop-down menu with URLs from my bookmarks that contain an N anywhere in the URL. Why is this happening, and how to fix it? Please don't tell me I have to switch back to Safari.

I'm using bandlab to link me and my friends who are hundreds of miles away to make music. Firefox and all browsers crash a lot with a "high memory usage" alert. But these are pretty big projects. I have 32GB RAM, this thing is crashing at much lower RAM levels than I would like for it to use. like 1GB seems to be the limit (i dont know that number if its exact or correct)

Is there any setting where I can INCREASE memory usage so I dont lose work from random crashes due to memory usage?

SAS booking site blocks me when I try to book flights because it thinks I'm a BOT. I was advised by SAS to use Microsoft Edge and I didn't have any problems. I've used Firefox for years and I don't want to change to Edge. Thanks Neil Tarbet

For about 6 months now, I've been having a strange problem with Firefox leaving behind ghost entries on the Win 11 taskbar.

I have a laptop attached to a dock which is connected to multiple monitors. If I have a FF window open on one of those external monitors and disconnect from the dock, all the tabs that were open in that FF window will become ghost entries on the taskbar. (see attached image).

It doesn't matter if I close FF entirely, these entries remain until I restart the computer. If I click on one of them, it opens up a brand new, blank FF window.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea what might be going on? I tried doing some investigating a few weeks back and I remember finding something in the task manager about COM Surrogate that seemed connected, but I didn't get beyond that.

Lately, I used "Bing" in Firefox browser,but it often show no result and give one message about “Missing children". I think this is very strange, so I try to search in the "Bing" in different browser(Firefox and Chrome),and the test is confused. when I used this string "益云公益寻儿童" as the keyword for searching, there is only one result in Firefox browser but there are many results in Chrome browser.please see below images ( image 1 and image 2). At the same time ,there are also many results in "Baidu" in Firefox(image 3). Next I changed another keywords"天气预报",but there is still the big difference between them. when I Searching ,I closed all the plugins. So I think this is strongly related to Firefox browser. This phenomena makes "Bing search" very unpredictable so that I often got no result. please help me! thanks.
