I'm on a Mac, High Sierra. With each new version of Firefox Quantum performance gets worse and worse. It's so bad I am using Chrome to type this complaint. Firefox allows me to type 2 letters before it waits for a minute to gather itself so I can type another 2 letters. Try doing a search that way - It takes all night to type a short query. And I lost the Add-on bar at the bottom. From the numbers of complaints, Mozilla doesn't seem to be in any frame of mind to solve any problems, it's their way or the highway. I'm off to Chrome. I'm done searching a user forum for answers, let's hear from Mozilla. Why should I have to search and try tips (ad nauseam and most don't work) from forum participants. This is no way to run a business.

Beginning four days ago, the screen freezes when, having opened an email from a magazine, I click on and try to read an article contained within the email. The screen does not freeze when I go directly from MSN to a news story from the Post or Times or Guardian, only when I'm in my Hotmail account. AND it does not freeze when I access that account using Safari. I know I'm now out of date and unsupported, whatever that means, but I'm told the only solution to that is to relegate this lovely Mac to the scrapheap. Anyway, this new habit of freezing is a specific problem which should have a specific solution short of buying a new computer. Thanks for your help.

I like your browser and I keep trying to use it every couple months. But after a week of using it I have to delete it again. and hope you fix it so I can use it in the future at some point.
Problem is. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to pull up ANY web site. I open the same site in any other browser and they pop up instantly. I've gone through the sites troubleshooting issues. Cleared cache. Uninstalled, Reinstalled. Im reallt tech savvy so I usually can fix almost anything.
Unfortunately again. I have to quit using Firefox. This is really disappointing as it is a great browser when it works.
I am a power user that uses 3 browsers. sometimes 4 at a time and I am having a heck of a time finding good browsers to use.

I have Firefox 59.0.2 running on a Win 7 Pro machine and a few times a week Firefox won't load any website. When this happens the workstation completely loses network connectivity. If I use Chrome and don't open Firefox at all for a couple of weeks everything is fine. This issue didn't start happening until I started doing Firefox updates to my original Firefox (sorry, don't know the version of the old one). For the longest time I was running an older Firefox and within the last 6 months started doing updates. It was around this time that this issue surfaced.

I get a yellow bar all the time that is preventing pages from loading, it is always prompting me saying a page or script is running slowly do I want to wait or abort.. This is poping up in far less time than it usually takes any webpage to load with any browser on my system. I have stupid windows 8.1... I would prefer 7 as it is easier to use, but there is little that I can do about that other than wipe the disk and put linux on it.
Anyways, how do I give that yellow bar a REASONABLE wait time about 30 seconds instead of a few miliseconds?

So it seems when i close my firefox browser, and reopen it again after a while, there is a noficeable slowdown in web page loading and other functions. I've troubleshoot fixes such as removing additional add-ons, stopping ad-blocker add-ons, and utilize the free-memory add-ons, none of it seems to fix the slow-down. Any help?

After using Firefox for 30 minutes or longer Firefox slows and the cursor gets behind and jerky. Eventually will not respond and I have to reboot my iMac twice to clear the problems caused by Firefox. I have deleted all internet caches, cookies and web content. I have done the recommended delete and update. It works for a day or two and then the problem starts over again. Firefox is definitely causing a problem and I am going to have to stop using it. Safari does not have these problems. iMac OS 10.12.6, Firefox 59.0.2.

OK, I've made it to version 42 and I have to say this is the slowest to load most hangs of any version I've ever used. I've tried everything. No add-ons, checked my DNS and entire network. Tried suggestions from the Mozilla site to speed things up and even checked for malware. I'm at my wits end because I love Firefox but right now on my Windows 10 machine, Google Chrome is way faster. I even deleted and re-installed FIrefox. This is a nightmare. Am I missing something like a hidden file when I delete? There are times half a pge loads up and I could get a cup of coffee and it's still loading. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Like the title says, Firefox takes a long time to load when first run at boot. It can take as long as 3 minutes to finally load. Compare this to Internet Explorer which takes 3 seconds. Kind of embarrassing for the developers of Firefox when even Internet Explorer performs better.
Anyways, I reset the settings, and that didn't seem to help. So I did a full uninstall of Firefox using Revo Uninstaller Pro. And even after that, I searched my computer for "Firefox" and "Mozilla" and deleted the few items that came up. So I was sure my computer was completely clean of anything Firefox related. I re-installed Firefox, and it still takes around 2 minutes for the browser to finally load.
My specs:
Windows 10 Pro (x64 bit) Intel Pentium 2.5 GHz (quad core) 8 GB RAM
Firefox:
Version 53.0.2 (x64 bit)
Extensions installed:
Blur YouTube Flash Video Player
Appearance: Default
Plugins: OpenH264 Video Codec Microsoft Office Authorization Plugin Adobe Shockwave Flash Microsoft Silverlight
Hopefully, I can get this problem solved. Like I said, it's an embarrassment when Internet Explorer outperforms Firefox.

When I start up a fresh Firefox, things work pretty ok. But soon after, it starts pausing all the time. Hover over a link, and it takes a second or two to switch cursors. Click in a text field, and it takes a few seconds to become active. Start typing and every few words, it pauses and then catches up. Try to scroll and it takes its time doing it.
I've followed tips on previous issues that sounded similar. Accessibility programs disabled in options. Tried in safe mode. Tried a full refresh. Nothing works.
Any more ideas?
why does it become unresponsive after 2 hrs on the same site?
Unresponsive after 2 hrs, always. Have to restart. Sometimes have to disconnect power because it's so slow, then restart.
