Installed System Mechanic (iolo) and everything was working fine until a few days ago. Periodically Firefox will stop responding and sometimes freeze. Sometimes I have to exit; other times it slowly gets back to responding. Is this an incompatibility with System Mechanic? Haven't used the iolo program before but thought I'd try it. Can remove the program if this is bad for Firefox.

It will work for a short while but eventually causes firefox to completely freeze until I end the "plugin-container.exe" process in the task manager (which causes it to stop working obviously). I have uninstalled and reinstalled, I have attempted the deactivate hardware acceleration option, the option under plugins that firefox also suggested isn't even an option anymore (maybe it was for an older version of flash?) but either way this is getting old since practically every website uses flash either for ads or actual desired video and I'd like to be able to browse the web. Any help would be much appreciated!

since V 41 very often the standard firefox start window is replaced by a crude yahoo one. I can reset it by ordering "stadard window", this is not kept always!?

In 'about:config' several new yahoo entries are then built - removing them is no help... Also all my Adware cleaners did not help. I'm convinced that it's not Mozilla-fault. So Somebody is sneaking in since V41 (!?) Since i want to decide freely which search enginge i want to use in a session, there is no use of a specified yahoo page for me without any coice.

For those with the skill, write a BOINC project to randomly choose a web page, salt with the harvest of shame to make somebody think viewer is coming from infothieves, pick another random web page & go, change a few trackers and, using a a spoofed NIC and address, send our friends on a wild goose chase. Could probably even be done with Raspberry pies running wireless at establishments offering free wifi and injected into corporate computers via key - Only problem is periodic updates of tools used and clicking on all bizarre targeted ads offered.
