105.03 on Macos 12.5 & 12.6, Apple Silicon

I recently received a SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN error when trying to connect to a Heroku site (addons.heroku.com) I think. I thought it was a Heroku problem, but noticed that on clicking "advanced" the certificate was described as being for completely different domains, on every refresh.

Shift-refresh fixed this.

Since then I upgraded to Macos 12.6, and today received a similar error when trying to connect to https://www.theautopian.com/mclaren-f1-chief-engineer-gordon-murrays-mk-i-ford-escort-is-a-restomod-masterpiece/ – again, the certificate was described as belonging to a different domain. As before a shirt-refresh fixed this.

I notice firefox will sighn off on its own after I sighn in. Also notice site "Privacy Protection" button is off. I slide this button on, only to notice later that again this is off? HTTPSEVERYWHERE also has a slider button I continue to turn on , yet it turns itself off. Can you let us understand the "reasoning" for this?

Its very simple, I have a bunch of Saved Log in and Passwords saved in the place I'm supposed to save it. Starting yesterday for some reason Firefox stopped doing the Fill-in part. I've check all my info and its all still in there it just isn't getting from there to my Log In screens like it should? And to cut out this needless babble, it is NOT my computer! Cause guess what, I also have Chrome and my saved password function works just fine with them. Which is why I have both, it must be a really funny Business Lunch where you and Google flip a coin to see who is going to play dumb this week.

Linux Since the last 'automatic' update, Firefox hangs when started, but doesn't show any GUI.

Many experiments later, I can report the following progress:

- I started firefox from the command-line, hoping to see some output (no luck there), and eliminating problems with the window manager launcher (XFCE) - Firefox launches, but in triplicate: 3 instances are running (of firefox, _not_ firefox-bin) - There is no console output. - Running inside gdb shows threads entering and exiting, no errors. On ^C, there's just a message about exiting the current thread. - If I kill two of the instances, the GUI appears, so it seems they are blocking each other - I wanted to trace the startup sequence, so I did `strace ./firefox 2> log` and behold, firefox started! This is why I am reporting this on the actual started firefox. - Which makes me suspect a 'race condition' - surely the strace is slowing things down, allowing one instance to create the GUI. Some code which is not lock-protected?

I'm afraid this could happen again in next session, which is why I report this first, before trying to restart FF.

I've experienced this about 4 times now over the past few weeks, at seemingly random intervals. This occurs on both my Mac mini and MacBook pro (both with M1), usually after browsing for an hour or more. Possible culprit - this seems to have only started happening after running a Snowflake proxy. Could this be the cause? If not, what else might it be?

Additional info Extensions - Bitwarden, SimpleLogin, uBlock Origin, Dark Reader Tracking protection - Strict

Since the Oct 7 Firefox update (105.0.3 ) for Mac, I've experienced slowdowns and freezes that affect Finder operations as well as Fox. I have a M1 iMac 27" running MacOS12.6. It goes away by when I close and restart Firefox and/or do Mac maintenance with Onyx. Because the effect is progressive, starting mild and getting worse, I think you've got a memory leak. I 1st noticed it in a 30-tab environment. I'll see if it affects my Mac-Air running an earlier MacOS

I have been using firefox for years. I went to medicare.gov this weekend and was unable to login. I have never had a problem using firefox to login to Medicare.gov. I called medicare and they only told me to clear history and cookies which I did OR use another browser. I am using a Mac and used Safari, but had to turn on Java script to login. I have turned off all addons. Looked at settings, but can not find why I can not use firefox to login to Medicare.gov

Suggestions!!!!!

While booting up my laptop, a series of extremely unfortunate crashes occurred back to back and ended up wiping the entirety of my synced login passwords and saved email addresses for all websites. After jumping through the multiple different hoops of profile management, json file extension editing, attempting to use a file explorer to recover previous versions of the required json file, I am at the end of my rope and worse off than where I started. Everything is missing now; bookmarks, passwords, email addresses, everything but recent history in this very browsing session.

All of my json files with relevant information are filled to the brim with null values, nothing seems recoverable and it's honestly a little soul crushing to deal with this. I read online that the the Firefox Sync data is also stored server side, and after multiple attempts of sighing into my account on different devices, I cannot get that server side data to flow back into my browser. If there is anything that can be sent my way to get me back on track, please, please help me out here in recovering my information. This is horrible. I have nothing now.

I'm VERY not happy ! * I had 100's of bookmarks !! If there had been a way to turn off updates, I would have done it a long time ago.

I assume there isn't any way to retrieve them ??

On 10/16 I reported here a corrupt session file that broke Firefox. Finally resolved for the most part.

Firefox sync sessions?

Today, I launched Firefox 106, and all my pinned tabs were missing, on several differently customized profiles with the same session.

I reverted back to Firefox 105.03, and the pinned tabs on all those tested profiles reappeared.

Can somebody check this out? It may be a coincidence, but this is too close for comfort.

IRS system requirements Help says: TLS encryption must be enabled. Session cookies enabled. Javascript enabled.

I am guessing the TLS encryption is not operating correctly. Any thoughts on this?
