I often see a Shortcut on my New Tab that I have never gone to, which says "sponsored" on it. I do not want these ads. I have looked up the answer: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/sponsor-privacy?as=u&utm_source=inproduct I can manually delete a sponsored shortcut once, but this does not stop them from coming onto future New Tabs. My problem is, the long-term answer simply does not work. Settings -> Home -> Firefox Home Content simply does not contain a section that says "Sponsored shortcuts" and therefore this solution is not accessable. I am on Version 120 as suggested. What is going wrong? How do I prevent these ads from appearing on the New Tab page?

What has happened to all of my Task Bar / Tool Bar? As of today, Sunday Nov. 26th, everything is gone. In addition the browser itself looks "different" some how.

After the latest updates the drm protection prevents any streaming of hbo or prime video content to discord. Is this just a mistake from mozilla's side or did 2 streaming sites decide on same week to start ruining their service for paying customers?

It has reinstalled all my other extentions, but hasn't my password manager for some reason. Or at least I can't find it. I also can't remember the name of it, and so don't know what to search to download it again. Is there a way to see historic extentions or something?

I have an issue with the address bar in private windows. Normally when you click on the search bar in the new tab page, it will redirect the cursor to the address bar instead of letting you use the search bar.

I found the following solution on the forum here that works for normal windows: go to the about:config page and set browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar to false.

For private windows, this fix does not work. It will still go to the address bar instead of letting you use the search bar. Is there another way for me to fix this so that it will also work in private windows?

I deleted some emails on the weekend by mistake so I went into trash to retrieve them but couldn't find them. I checked again this morning and they are still not there. Please help Thank you, Basma Brown

On https://careers.usmc-mccs.org/psc/hprd/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/HRS_HRAM_FL.HRS_CG_SEARCH_FL.GBL?Page=HRS_CAREERS_FL&Action=U when I log in and go to my page, Firefox will not allow me to scroll and see all of the information whereas Chrome and Edge does. I am not sure if there is a setting incorrect in Firefox or it is blocking an area from scrolling. I added a copy of the screenshots below from Edge and Firefox.

I was working in Firefox, everything was working fine and all of a sudden, by tabs began to crash. I only had 2 tabs open. I opened Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode and still, the tabs crashed. I opened More Troubleshooting Information and tried to Refresh Firefox, but it appeared nothing happened.

I do not want to lose the Bookmarks I have saved!!

I have been a loyal Mozilla user for many years and it will be a lot of work to to transfer to chrome or edge but continuing problem with camera/microphone access and now this rubbish makes it necessary.

In HTML, in the head element, it is possible to specify links to external resources that are relevant to the current page. For example:

<link rel="alternate" type="application/pdf" href="mypage.pdf" title="My Page in PDF Format"> <link rel="license" href="copyright.html" title="Website License Information"> <link rel="next" href="page2.html">

Many years ago, I found an obscure setting that enabled a toolbar that would display all those document links directly in the browser. That was several computers ago, so I cannot look up the about:config setting that enabled the functionality, and my online searches have found nothing even remotely related to the subject.

What happened to that functionality? How can I turn it back on inside the latest version of Firefox?

Addendum: This functionality was not provided by any extension, add-on, or mod. It was implemented directly in the browser itself, downloaded vanilla and clean installed. It was enabled by directly editing the "about:config" page.

As for whether the cited links are intended for automated tools or not, here is the HTML standard itself:

Interactive user agents may provide users with a means to follow the hyperlinks created using the link element, somewhere within their user interface.

And just in case somebody suggests this is somehow new or novel functionality, here it is described in the HTML standard published in 1997:

Although LINK has no content, it conveys relationship information that may be rendered by user agents in a variety of ways (e.g., a tool-bar with a drop-down menu of links).

That "tool-bar with a drop-down menu of links" is almost exactly what Mozilla used to provide. I just want to know what happened to it.

I have been unable to send or receive emails for the past week when I try to send a message I get this message come up .... .. Sending message failed.... The message could not be sent because the connection to outgoing server SMTP smtp.gmail.com timed out try again..... I dont know why this has happened and I cannot fix it???

I opened my bookmarks today to find out that all my bookmarks are showing the same web address (Chevrolet.com). And when I went to Recovery, I only found the backup that Firefox did today with the single web address for all my bookmarks. Firefox was updated to version 120 on 11/21/2023.

I don't know what happened because the browser was working fine earlier this morning and I didn't do anything to compromise it. I didn't go to settings and change anything. I suspect someone may have 'hacked in,' if that is still even a 'thing.' I think this because when I try to shut off my internet temporarily someone turns it back on and I usually have to 'fight' with whoever that is to get my internet to go off. I tried to ask google a question I wanted the answer to. That question was, how long does the flu last (because I have it or covid.) I also asked how long does covid last. What happened was that spinning thing where it was continually searching but never going to the site. Can you help, please? Thanks in advance if you can.

I find that OneNote Web Clipper extension is not available for Firefox now. I'm sure it used to be. Why is it not available and is there a workaround to be able to use it still in FF? Windows 11.

I have attempted to follow published instructions on how to manage extensions but the steps described are completely wrong. When I click the extensions icon, it opens the add-ons tab (does not present a list of extensions). There is no "gear" next to any of my extensions; just the on/off button and the .... button.

How can I force an extension to show on the toolbar?

Firefox is up to date (version 120.0).
