I cannot find an old Firefox folder. I have looked in profile and found 2 logins.json files, dated 21.03 & 09.03, the earlier says corrupt, have copied both together with the sqlite file. How do I open these files to check them ? Tried Firefox in Safe Mode, still no logins. Help would be appreciated, thank you

Is there anyway I can recover them.

You have to understand that I don't understand anything about code.

I am 61 years old and you and google and MS are making it more and more complicated in the name of BS safety

I have ESET Internet Security and addons that block popups and dangerous websites.

I suggest you offer a browser that is easier for me to understand.

My computer was destroyed when I installed the Windows 1903 update.

Then I accidentally deleted all my files ,and I didn't have a hard disk backup

Is it possible you can send me all my bookmarks from 12 months ago

Or give me instructions on how to recover without being too complicated

Please send the details to my gmail account xxxxxxxx@xxxxx.xxx

I only use xxxxxxxxx@xxxxx.xxx for Youtube

sincerely

Shaun Salter

The upgrade wiped out everything. In searching for bookmarks to restore, I find I have several profiles. I want to RESTORE the BMs from ALL of these profiles. I understand that each "restore" replaces all bookmarks, so how does one CONSOLIDATE all of these profiles' bookmarks into one place?

I'm badly confused and extremely panicky about doing something that will actually wipe out the bookmarks backup!!

I know that my saved passwords are still available - because when I go onto sites I always use, on this browser, it logs me in.

However if I go to Options>Privacy & Security> Saved logins it only shows the "firefox account credentials" (which I had never noticed before) and 1 password I updated today

Hi. I've been a loyal user to Mozilla Firefox for many years now. My concern is whenever I updated the browser from the past, It deletes my settings and extensions. That's whats keeping me from updating it for quite sometime now. So Im simply afraid to do it. For example. Part of my research entails an extension that downloads and converts from a video site. After an update this is removed. I have to re-install everytime. I so got tired of this. Its so annoying everytime it asks for updating, I have to opt out. Is there some way I can update this without messing up my settings? Has Mozilla already worked out a version without messing with my settings? Thank you for the help.

My mother and I both use Firefox on different models of Toshiba laptops. Starting a few months ago Firefox began refreshing itself without either of us doing anything. It's usually either right before or right after a FF update is available; downloading the update right away doesn't seem to matter (as in, updating doesn't fix anything; it still happens). My mom's FF refreshed itself today as the 67.0.3 update became available.

Every time this happens I have to go through and change all of our settings back to they way they were, and reconfigure all of our add-ons. It's really frustrating.

I find that my current version of Firefox browser (84.0.2 (64 bit)) seldom saves login details for websites that I regularly visit, despite my clicking the 'save' or ' update' buttons on the dialog box that appears when I log in manually. For example, I must have entered half a dozen or more details manually in the last and clicked the 'save' button on the dialog box tha appears but the 'login and password' menu item only shows two that have been saved that day.

I can find nothing that has had any effect in the present help topics.

Another annoying aspect is that help topics appear to prescribe 'fixes' that have no parallel in the details that appear on the actual browser menu items.

I apologise in advance to the relevant developers, but I am now questioning why I should persevere with such a 'buggy' app that used to perform beautifully in the past.

Hello,

I wiped my laptop in November because I had a virus and my Firefox bookmarks have disappeared. I have followed the recovery advice given in Forums and have found lots of Firefox folders in my computer, including JSON files, but when they open in Firefox the tabs are empty. I had wiped my laptop two months before, in September, and my bookmarks were all there when I reset the system so I'm upset that this has happened. I've changed laptops in the past and wiped the system and this is the first time I have ever lost my bookmarks.

I'm really hoping someone can help me recover them.

Please note I am not a technical person so please make the advice as easy as possible for me to understand.

Thank you.

I really don't understand how firefox could dump all my saved logins, including passwords. Seriously, this browser is the worst. Unforgivable. Leaving!

All of my saved passwords have been dumped, deleted, gone. NO reason. I've seen others with the same complaint. There is no excuse for this. And it is unforgivable. This browser is a child's toy, not serious about being reliable. IF there is a solution to this problem you have created, if I can get my passwords back, I'd love to know how. But I'll bet there is no solution. I'll bet this ridiculous string of coded incompetence cannot be redeemed.

Have I made myself clear?

For the past several months I've had problems with Firefox not retaining passwords. Then, along came an update and Firefox stopped retaining passwords and usernames. The most recent Firefox has not only stopped retaining u/n's and p/w's, I now have to sign into my home page. To really top it off, if I leave my gmail page and go to another page (gmail is still open) when I come back to gmail, I have to sign in again. This is happening on two computers. The past couple weeks I've been having pages, crash, over and over again, on facebook I'll be writing a message and suddenly the message box is gone and another page is loading. For instance, today while writing a message, it disappeared and the page of someone who was in my notifications (I had not opened them yet) loaded. When I'm in Gmail writing, suddenly the page I'm in is gone and it's another part of the email thread or an entirely different email loads. Gmail keeps telling me the email I am trying to open can't be loaded, or it simply does not load, ever. If I click on a new email to open it, sometimes I get an email several rows down from it, opening; definitely not the email I'm trying to open. Along with everything else, during one recent update I lost all my bookmarks, 16 years of bookmarks!! I am a researcher and my bookmarks were used daily; now they're all gone. Guess how happy I am about that! I have tried everything everyone has suggested and am at my wits end. I have used Firefox for 16 years and been quite happy with it. The past few updates have turned that into an absolute mess. I do no like Chrome and shouldn't have to change my browser just because your updates have enormous bugs in them. I should not have lost years worth of bookmarks, and I should be able to write a simple email without it disappearing. I have been hearing this same story from all my friends who use Firefox. You guys better figure this out or you're going to loose all of us.
