My laptop Fiirefox has a tiny white bar at the top with the X, minimize and maximize commands. How do I make that go away? (Or come back, if I need it to.) I need the real estate on the laptop, if for no other reason than to shut Messenger down on FB. Presently, I can't access the X to close it. Presently have Win10 on an Acer Spin 3. I downloaded Qwant browser some years ago out of curiosity then took this laptop offline. When I allowed this laptop back online, I noticed Qwant and disabled it, as I am accustomed to DuckDuckGo and no longer feeling curious, just want to get work done. Qwant is showing as disabled (under the Disabled heading, and greyed out).

However, when I use CTRL-N, the new browser window is Qwant, not Firefox, not DuckDuckGo.

I check that Firefox is my default browser and the laptop checks every boot-up that it is the default browser.

Can you help? I know there's a line of code somewhere but don't want to do more than I have -- endlessly search the settings, checking that there is nowhere that allows Qwant to load, let alone preferentially loads it.

I downloaded and installed Atkinson Hyperlegible and set Firefox to use it as my default font for all websites (see screenshot). This used to work, but now fonts on sites are shown in a default serif or sans-serif font, not the font I set. It stopped working maybe a month ago (October 2023).

What can I try to fix this?

Archived 2020 query at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1360922#answer-1465978 asked for time-stamped history list. Instructions in the response say after CMD(on Mac)/Shift/H you will see names of columns above the list. This does not appear - possibly deleted since the answer.

I'm trying to argue with a bank that I made a payment in business hours, and a time stamp on my history record would bolster my argument.

Is the list of columns mentioned available somehow? Can a date/time stamp be added to every history record? (Date is known, but not shown as a date stamp.) Is this info in there, but hidden, and available somehow?

I have two PCs, both running the same versions of Firefox for years. A little over a year ago, after an update, a new "Private" icon appeared in my taskbar in addition to the normal Firefox icon on one of my machines, but not the other one. This presented, and functioned as two different, independent browser applications; I could just click on the private browser icon to open the private browser without opening the "regular" Firefox. I don't know where this came from, but I like it... but it never changed on my other PC, and I can't find how to apply it; is there a setting or something I'm missing? Why did it happen automatically on one machine, but not the other?

I am not able to navigate websites per the ADA Accessibility requirements using my FireFox browser. I have tested the same websites in Chrome and the TAB key is working correctly, but in my instance of Firefox it does not. I have a colleague who tested the same website in their Firefox browser and they are not experiencing a problem navigating the website using their keyboard TAB key.

I am on a Mac with most recent FF installed. Colleague was on a PC and tested in FF.

My LastPass extension appears as a black box with an elipse. It is red when it is active. I have logged in to LastPass, and when I go to the extensions icon and select "Open Extension" nothing happens. It's not filling in any of my login information.

Constantly seeing websites loading with these unusual fonts. I deactivated the setting which allows websites to render their own fonts and have disabled seversl add ons with no resolution. I am on Mac OS 14.2

I'd like to now if it's possible to roll out a version of Firefox with password manager disable. While still be able to have the account option enable so Bookmarks and History can be synced.

As my work place has disable Firefox account sync saying they cannot disable Firefox password manger.

If someone could please if this is possible is so can you share how this would be done.

When I have sent an email, it is not seen in 'all mails' nor 'sent emails', it is attached to a thread, when I open the thread, I have to go through many 'header' emails to find it at the bottom. Why is my last email NOT in 'sent', not in 'all mail' - or if it is on the thread, not seen at the TOP, displayed, ready to reply. Sending me nuts. Please advise how I can customize - to see the emails sent and received in REAL time. Currently my sent mail has so few in the folder. How can I stop this. I want All Mail and Sent mail, at the time I sent them. Not buried, Not as threads. I have tried removing threads, and it think it wants to delete them, I don't want that.

So I have 2 screens. I put Youtube tutorials in my rightmost screen and have unreal engine open in my leftmost screen. I use my keyboard keys to pause the videos so I can type stuff or make changes as I follow along tutorials. Each and every time I hit pause/play this popup appears in the top-left of my leftmost screen showing a picture of the video that I have open (why this redundancy....I have it full screen already on screen), it shows a huge title of the vid (again with the redundancy I don't need another title of a vid that I am watching to keep appearing), it shows a rewind/play/fast forward which is really really poorly thought out.........we have those keys on our keyboard this just is more stuff blocking our view. All of these things block out the top left stuff in my window (file/edit/asset/window/tools/help)...its so large it blocks out all tabs open in this window...its so large it even blocks out part of my viewport and other areas in that vicinity. Now all of these things it blocks out are important and I need to use them. When I pause vid I am immediately needing to use things in this space. Then you turn it off using the solution: media.hardwaremediakeys.enabled = false and your buttons also stop working. So now you cannot pause/play without mousing off screen to YouTube and manually restarting.

So my first and most important question is how to HIDE not disable the use of the buttons associated with this.

My second question that I really want to put in all caps with expletives and maybe copy and paste the question like 5000000 times so that the amount of frustration this causes on a constant basis with every workflow that I need to use vids as part of it...is WHYYYYY?!?!?!

Ait now that last bit was for flair but I'm not even really joking with that one.

I seem to having an issue with adding search shortcuts on FF, I am following this guide:

But I'm stuck at step #4 as the table seems to be disabled.

This is a personal laptop and has not policies on it.

i use to have firefox or mozilla on my toolbar, do not know how to question or figure out what i am looking,

is it adding tab firefox or mozilla to the toolbar, when on toolbar you would click on firefox for a new tab.

I accidentally hid the menu bar and toolbars (with an accidental keyboard shortcut, I think), and when I re-enabled them, now the tab bar is above the location bar instead of right above the content windows. How do I move it back? I can't find the "browser.tabs.onTop" setting in about:config, or any check box in the View menu, settings, etc.

I'm using Firefox 119.0.1 on Ubuntu Linux.

Is there a way I can disable the "Pop out this video" button on the video player itself but keep the toggle present in the url bar? I have attached the pictures of what I am talking about I don't like the pop out button appearing on the video everytime I try to use my mouse around the video player but like the option of picture in picture seems like a good option for me.

Currently if I try to disable the button from the menu after right-clicking, it also disable the button present in the url bar.

I want extensions to have white/black-lists, so they're only allowed or blocked on certain pages e.g facebook container ruins instagram experience... and I can't block it on *instagram.com* Such feature would significantly enhance UX on firefox

Cannot prevent intrusive unwanted video on some pages; notably, CTV.ca which has an annoying widget which autoplays constantly and blockers are not effective, neither is video.autoplay.default=5 That USED to be the default no-fail go-to, now it has no effect whatsoever and I'm stymied in my attempts to block this stuff. What's next? How do i do this?
