Currently, there appears to be only one option to tell Firefox to open a given site in a specific container; that is, from the URL bar, to the right.

Would it make sense to have this configuration option presented in "edit bookmark" and/or in a right-click pulldown menu "Always open in this container"?

I use Firefox stable on both my Mac and my Win 11 PC. On the mac i use the developer edition. The issue I have started about 2-3 weeks ago. Most of the time, playing youtube 4k videos just either freezes and doesn't buffer, or just skips and reloads. It is not a network issue. I've tried playing back the same video with ARC on OSX (which is based on chromium) and with Chome on windows. It works flawlessly so it's not a network issue. I've tried disabling adblocker, all the extensions, nothing. It's either Youtube messing with non google products again or a problem with Firefox itself. I even have Youtube premium and this stuff still happens without adblockers.

Any help would be appreciated.

When I scroll through Facebook, often if there are two posts with photos, the browser seems to jump back and forth between the two images making it impossible to see or read either. My release is 123.0 and it was loaded when I needed to restore my system after a drive upgrade about 10 days ago.

I can't print an email. The whole screen prints and is too small to read.

I read previous answers to use the drop down menu and select print, but then I get window that says I have a blocking the print. I don't have an active blocker. I do have malwarebytes. Never had any trouble printing on chrome or safari.

On my Macbook air (m1 2020 14.3.1 (23D60)) /etc/hosts is ignored by Firefox 123

i've tried multiple offered (old) solutions from stack but non work.

FAILED ATTEMPTS:

• DNS over https -> off
• network.trr.excluded-domains ... tried to add the domains in the dns over https exeptions ... didn't work either
• added the domains to network.trr.excluded-domains
• cleared cache
• restart ff
• migrating all my /etc/hosts config from multiple domains on a single line to separate lines did. Hope this helps someone.
• network.ttr.mode = 5
• sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder in the terminal

Background: I run my own server and I cannot access them over the internet if I am on the same network (rounter dissallows this) This is annoying as I cannot develop via my laptop.

/etc/hosts is changed and in the terminal all (ssh etc...) works fine.

What is the proper way of doing this these days?

While I was browsing an open tab I moved my cursor over to the Bookmarks icon and the cursor automatically enlarged itself. I expect the cursor to remain at its normal size when I hover over the bookmarks icon but instead it became larger. I cannot reproduce the error unfortunately.

Hi all.

My sync is only sometimes working. I notice that when saving a bookmark and trying to find it on another device. I sometimes have to manually resync it or wait for a few days to get it shown on my other devices. Same with the tab sharing across devices.. In most cases it doesn't work at all..

Should I use DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials with Mozilla/Firefox? Would all of the Firefox features work the same or would DuckDuckgo replace Firefox features? If both worked together it would seem to be the best option. I would greatly appreciate some input on this.

Hey, I've noticed lack of sync in audio when pausing video. What I mean:

Assumptions: - Using bluetooth headphones (tested only on airpods pro, 2 different pairs) - system MacOS 14.2.1 - Macbook Pro M1 Pro

1. Play any video with audio (vimeo, youtube, custom players) 2. Pause

Outcome: Right headphone audio stops first Left headphone audio stops after small delay

Expected outcome: Right & Left headphone audio stops at the same time

I'm quite sensitive to things like that.. maybe someone knows a fix for this or this is just Firefox bug?

This started recently, after I installed the latest upgrade of Firefox and the video downloader. Not happening on Safari or DuckDuckGo. I suspect they have spotted I am using Firefox and are lying about the connection problem. Any suggestions welcome. thanks!

Mod - please delete. I couldn't find a way to delete my question so I edited it. I had an issue but I think it's due to my Firefox being Enterprise managed. I tested the same thing on my personal laptop with Firefox and no issue.

Everyone says my audio sounds distorted in google video chat. I had been using it for months without issue on Firefox, and then I got a new Apple computer and people started to tell me I had this issue. In order to isolate the issue I tried going on Teams Video chat and Zoom video chat and people said my audio sounded fine there. Then I opened Google Video Chat in Google Chrome and people said my audio sounded fine there too. Lately, it's only when I'm on Firefox trying to use Google Video Chat (aka Google Meet) to video chat and people say my audio sounds way too distorted to hear what I'm saying. I restarted my computer, I even checked for the latest browser, which is up to date, I can't figure out how to fix this. Sounds like a firefox issue. Any ideas?

I Use Mac OS Firefox as my primary client for Gmail, and I always compose emails in a pop-out window. Ever since Firefox 124, these pop-out windows include the tool bar and bookmarks bar, eating up a bunch of space. I do want those bars displayed on my main firefox window, I don't want them displayed on the pop-up Gmail compose windows. Is there anyway to get Firefox revert back to this old behavior?

I cannot get firefox to update. It is set up for automatic updates but they don't happen. Even if I try manual installation of updates it says the update fails. I ran it in troubleshooting mode and the problem still exists. I restarted my computer and the problem still exists. I am using a mac running on Monterey. How can I get it to auto update again? (and even though it says failed to check for or install updates, it looks like I do have the latest version of firefox)

on most current macbook, when opening downloaded PDF, it does not open in my selected PDF preference. i have it set for my preferred PDF reader, yet it opens with a completely different one. i have checked all settings i can think of bot on the mac and in firefox, and am flummoxed. all i am finding are windows articles with help, and i checked those too but still nadda. anyone else have any suggestions?

Since yesterday, occassionally while using Facebook or Messenger, the tab crashes. Earlier today on the Messenger side, after reopening the Messenger tab after it crashes, it crashed again. It doesn't occur on other websites and the app doesn't crash, only the tab.

Using Firefox on "troubleshoot mode" doesn't have an issue when accessing when I visit those for a few minutes and with only one or two tabs open, and I'm afraid of visiting these sites for a while because it may crash again. Occurs on both Windows and Mac.

Crashed signature leads to: "js::gc::AllocSite::incTenuredCount", and I have no idea what does it mean. For my Mac the reason for the crash is "EXC_BAD_ACCESS / KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE", while for Windows, reason is "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ".

I will add additional crash IDs from my Windows. Idk what is the problem currently, is it with the add-ons installed, Facebook, or Firefox itself? The RAM is fine.
