Can I limit the number of Firefox Processes that run?

In daily work tasks, I end up with a large number of windows and tabs open. I am wondering if this is not adding to my extremely slow recovery of frozen tabs and windows and MANY instances of "Non-Responsive" everyday. Firefox is set to allow multiple processes, naturally, but I'm looking for ways to ease the pain here. If I disable Multiple Processes in Firefox v138.0.1, will I have problems running, for example, 5 windows with a total of 30 tabs spread across those Windows? (God knows I don't wanna have to grow up and actually manage the things I open up for stuff.) In addition, I am running Canva, sometimes Paint 3D, and Office 2021 concurrently. An associated question........in this most recent Firefox, how do I run Multiple processes, but limit the number of them to 5, for example? There used to be a setting in Firefox to do that, but I can't find it. I'm working with Windows 11-v24H2 on a Dell Inspiron 17 with an Intel Core i7-8550U CPU (about 7 years old) and 16Gb of Ram.........and sometimes I fall asleep waiting for many tabs, windows, and instances of Office 2021 to come back to work (I'm thinking they signed a Union deal, and didn't tell me about it.).

This has been going on and getting progressively worse for about 3-4 months.

Advice? Suggestions? I'd be truly grateful for any ideas you got.

I am writing to report an issue I’ve been experiencing with your browser. Despite setting the startup option to “Continue where you left off,” my open tabs are not being restored when I reopen the browser.

I have already taken the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

   Confirmed that “Continue where you left off” is enabled in the settings
   Ensured I am not using incognito/private mode
   Disabled all extensions to rule out conflicts
   Verified that the browser is up to date
   Checked for tab recovery options in history

Even after trying all these measures, the problem persists. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this issue.

Please let me know if you require any system logs or additional information.

We apparently lost power sometime during the night. When I turned on the monitor and opened FF, I got the error message that it had crashed. As my subject line says, I lost all my tabs, the pinned ones (probably about 10) as well as the open ones (probably between 10 and 15). I also lost all my history. I can't use the 'Restore Previous Session' because it doesn't give me that option.

I've restarted Firefox and also rebooted my computer...still nothing happens. It's up to date, version 133.0. But I have no history beyond this morning. Is there any way I can recover those tabs or history?

And in my FF Settings, there's a link at the top that says "Your browser is being managed by your organization". I don't have or belong to an organization. When I click on the link it takes me to another page that says it's "Active" and there's a huge list of "Documentation" that apparently involves a lot of code. Can you please explain what all that means? Thanks so much for any help!

Hello. Today I updated Firefox to Version 138.0.3 64 bit and I have found that the Search Bookmarks in Bookmarks no longer works where as in Version 138.0.1 it did. I have done a Refresh and it still does not work. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem. Is this a bug or something new with the current update. Could someone tell me how to solve this a using the Search Bookmarks function was a big help. Thank you.

I am starting to use the new utility which allows me to group tabs. But I would like to see only the name of the group and not the whole list. How can I collapse the list of tabs which belong to a group leaving only the group name shown. Then with a click I should be able to see the corresponding list of tabs if I need it. I am experiencing an issue with the Keeper browser extension on Mozilla Firefox. Despite configuring all related settings appropriately, the extension consistently locks out every time I close the browser.

To troubleshoot, I have:

Verified that the extension is enabled and fully allowed in Firefox’s Extension settings.

Ensured that Keeper is whitelisted in every possible relevant setting within the browser.

Checked that the "stay logged in" or persistent session options are correctly set within Keeper’s own configuration.

Confirmed that no conflicting privacy settings or third-party add-ons are interfering with the extension's functionality.

Despite these measures, the extension does not retain its logged-in state upon browser closure. This behavior suggests a persistent session issue not aligned with the user-side configuration.

I would appreciate guidance on how to resolve this.

My Mac shut down unexpectedly. Upon rebooting the newest version of Firefox - 138.0.1 was installed. All of my bookmarks have disappeared. I tried to restore from a backup but when I hit restore in the manage bookmarks window it says "choose file" but it lists no files to choose from. I found multiple backup files by accessing my Firefox profile via finder. However when I try to open them with Firefox it displays a blank page and nothing in the bookmarks tab. Is it possible that the bookmark files have also been deleted from the backups as well? If not, how do I transfer these files to the active bookmark tab in the menu bar other than using the restore function which offers no files to choose from?

After having created a couple of tab groups with some of the numerous tabs that were already open in my browser (Firefox, of course) and then closing and reopening the browser shortly after, no tabs at all reopened even though this is my normal setting for Firefox: open all previous tabs when opening firefox. This setting had always worked before - as it does now with the new tabs. However, all my previous tabs as well as the freshly created groups have vanished. Every other day, I open FireFox and may get the following error: XULRunner - This profile was last used with a newer version of this application. Please create a new profile. Also, this error may come up while I already have had FireFox open for a while. Once this error comes up, I check the version, and sometimes the version is older than what it was, meaning, FireFox reverted back to an older version on it's own. I created a new profile, but the error comes back. I removed FireFox and all folders, and the error still comes back. There is nothing I can do to stop the error from showing up again. See attached images. I am on Windows 11 23H2, all windows updates caught up, and the current FireFox browser version is 138.03.

I logged into my Firefox Sync account last week on a newly re-imaged computer. My old computer is listed under "Connected Services" and for the first few days, when I selected "Sync" from the top right menu, the subsequent menu included the name of the the old computer and the list of tabs. That list of tabs is no longer listed and I haven't been able to find a way to access it. Attached is an image of the menu where the list of tabs was previously listed. Any suggestions are appreciated.
