One of my two TB email accounts has been stuck on 'check messages' for two days with a constantly spinning wheel. I cannot download new messages (although I can get them on my non-synced phone). The account will let me send messages, and there is no problem with the other email account. How do I fix this?

When viewing e-mail in the lower-right (Preview?) panel, some are marked as read immediately and others take longer or don't get marked as read at all. I opened the Error Console and I see some recurring errors:
Are these related? How can I get rid of them so I have a clean error console?
The "identities" error happens whether or not I have an identify set for the account and whether or not Folder Accounts extension is activated on not. I have tried disabling all extensions (Cardbook, FolderAccount, QuickFilters, QuickFolders, Remove Duplicate Messages) but it still occurs on some specific messages. After restarting Thunderbird, the NS_ERROR_CONTENT_BLOCKED still occured but the Identities error stopped.
I turned on the extensions one-by-one and the Identities error came back and the CONTENT error remained.

TB 115.3.0, running on Windows 10 Pro (22H2)... I try to insert an image into my email (Insert->Image). Normally a dialog box appears to select the image file. Now, nothing appears. It seems that the dialog box "thinks" it is there because I can not do anything else until I hit ESC, but I do not see the dialog box on the screen. This worked fine until I updated to 115.3.0 today.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

It's a legitimate e-mail, when I click on the given button, the message pane turns blank, and it doesn't come back for any other mail I open.
When I click on it in a new message window, the same happens, but, only for that window.
It's not something that will give me any trouble since I don't think I will receive frequently, but it seems like a bug, not sure if this is the place to report it though. So if it's not please point me in the right direction, and thank you for thunderbird, it has been my main mail client since it exists. And Mozilla and Netscape before.

The number of unread messages does not match the the actual unread messages in my Inbox. I suspect the messages are in limbo somewhere because I was waiting for an email, got a notification, the number of unread increased by one but the message did not come through. Checked Spam not there. Checked all sub-folders of Inbox.
Also, having a similar problem with search. Search finds the email and says it's in Inbox but it's not.
New news, when I went to the search to get the sample, my unread emails showed up in the search but not in the Inbox still??? See pics.
Any body else having these issues?
I have attached pics for clarity. Also, I tried to reindex but all the posts I saw said to delete the global-messages-db.sqlite file. Did a search of my entire C:, I do not have a global-messages-db.sqlite file anywhere on my PC. Did this change at some point?

I found a few similar problems on the internet but none of the answers can actually fixed my problems. I can only add 1 Gmail account for personal and the Work account cannot be added due error 400. I also have a custom domain account selfhosting so I don't think it is Thunderbird fault.
1. I have no VPN 2. I use no firewall 3. I use the latest Thunderbird 115 4. I made sure to clear caches 5. I do not accept cookies from anysite 6. I always use Mozilla recommend config for Gmail which is SSL/TLS and OAuth2 7. IMAP is turned on 8. This is the link has 400 error (I got this after enter the correct login email), see [1] 9. There was zero delay on the prior version to open a folder, so it appears to be specific to Supernova. I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned it on the forums yet, so it seems it might just be something about my particular setup. Can anyone help me diagnose what I might be doing wrong?

Hi. I have a few problems with the newest version of thunderbird 115.3.0 (64bit), but I had the same problems with previous versions too.
When I get an email, the name of folder(s) become blue and bold, an orange star appears and the number of unread emails increases. But when I click something (doesn't matter what) or slide a scroll, the name of the folder becomes black as it was on the beginning and the orange star disappears. When I click the name of the folder it again is marked with an orange star.
Very often I don't receive email, but I should. I press "Get Messages" button, I see "no new messages" at the bottom of the window. I repeat it a few times and every time the result is the same. After 30 seconds or few minutes Thunderbird starts receiving messages from the last 2 hours.
We noticed very similar behaviour on a several computers. I was tested also in safe-mode and everything looks the same.

After transferring my email to a new computer with Windows 11, I encountered a printing error when trying to print a received message. When attempting to print a message that should fit on a single page, the email program prints many more pages, leaving about 80% of each page blank where the text should be. I have attached an example in the sent attachments where one printed page is turned into multiple printed pages. I've tried various methods such as changing the text encoding and scaling, but nothing seems to help. Please assist.

I have lost access to most messages in a folder, and the messages count in the folder pane (52) does not match the message count in the message pane (56) which does not match the number of messages listed in the message pane (3).
When previously accessing this folder i could see 50+ messages in it.
I'm not sure of the exact sequence of events. I have been moving messages between folders, and sorting on different column headers within this folder, but I don't think i've done anything more exotic than that. At one point I think i caught a glimpse of a message that included the word "selected".

I have multiple email accounts.
When I click to the inbox off one of my gmail accounts it does not display to the last message received. Thunderbird opens to a message about 1/4 up into my inbox.
I have a second gmail account and this behavior does not occur.
I'm sure its a easy fix, I just can't figure it out .

since Saturday, 9th Sept. 2023, ca. 14:00 GMT my Thunderbirds are producing error messages.
I have added four different outlook.com email-accounts, each with IMAP+TLS+OAuth2 as incoming server and SMTP+STARTTLS+OAuth2 as outgoing server configuration. The error messages are only regarding these outlook.com-accounts. A gmail.com-account with the same settings is not affected.
I encounter constantly popups with the following error messages: - "...user ist authenticated but not connected" - "the server is offline" - something like "authentification error while connecting to server outlook.office365.com"
Also the Page where i should enter the password to create the OAuth-Token keeps opening and closing before it could load completely.
The most astounding thing is, the synchroniziation seems to work nonetheless. It's just the messages that annoy me.
Here is an entry from the Thunderbird error-log: "mailnews.oauth: Error response from the authorization server: invalid_grant; AADSTS50196: The server terminated an operation because it encountered a client request loop. Please contact your app vendor. (...) https://login.microsoftonline.com/error?code=50196"
The problem occured more or less suddenly on 3 different PCs: - Two Windows 10 Pro 22H2 machines with the Thunderbird versions 115.2.0 and 115.2.1 - A Fedora Linux machine where Thunderbird 115.2.0 is installed via Flatpak
What I already tried with no success: - De- and reinstalling Thunderbird with deleting _all_ user Data - Upgrading Thunderbird from 115.2.0 to 115.2.1 - Revoking the access for the Thunderbird-app in the Microsoft.com account OAuth-Settings and granting it again when creating a new token by logging in with Thunderbird
What my inquiry has delivered yet: - Thunderbird seems to have problems to remember the OAuth-Tokens. When I look in the privacy settings at the saved passwords I can see that the passwort seems to change constantly. In contrast, the Google-gmail.com-account keeps the same passwort. - It seems to be especially triggered by closing thunderbird and opening it again shortly afterwards, though it does happen without doing so too. - The error messages pop up and the password-page opens mostly when I click on a folder (presumably because Thunderbird is trying to sync it then)
My accounts seem to be fine. I have no problems accessing them with OAuth2 via K-9 Mail on my Android 13 phone. I can also log in via the Web Interface.

I am a die hard fan of the Thunderbird Mail Client, particularly on Ubuntu-based operating systems and have been a loyal user for years. However, with each new "upgrade" or "improvement", it seems to me there is always that lurking problem of HANGING SLOWNESS.
Why do I frequently get these warning signs of "BUSY" or "FORCE QUIT" "WAIT", on a routine basis. Yes, my HP Spectre x360 laptop is from 2016, and it's aging a bit; but I only have the Firefox Developer Edition browser open at the same time as my Thunderbird Client.
It's not like I'm using all of the systems resources. So, why the frequency of hanging slowness? It's very frustrating when you're inspired by an email message that you're quickly typing down and your thought process is rudely interrupted, because you're waiting for the Thunderbird Mail Client app to return to normal?
Is there something inherently going on in the background is that is slowing down this app's performance? It's a very bizarre problems that really affects your daily productivity and communication goals.
Please shed insight or provide tips and/or advice.

Thunderbird 115.0 (though also happened on 102), M2 macbook pro; OS up to date.
On AC & battery, thunderbird uses up huge amounts of power sporadically in its background activity, taking up ~50-80% of processor power & hundreds of gb virtual memory (see activity monitor screenshot attached). Computer gets pretty hot to touch with thunderbird on, which I don't see with other apps. Troubleshooting info below.
This has been happening for several months now, since I switched to thunderbird & was hoping it would resolve at 115. I can't find any correlation with other usage patterns of the computer (ie I dont think it's correlated with idle usage, but not willing to stage reputation on that).
