Since the latest upgrade to 115.10.1 (64-bit) I have an issue about running Thunderbird.

From a clean Windows 11 start up it is OK but then if I then Exit and then try to run the bird again it does not start.

Digging around I discovered using Task Manager, a number of Thunderbird processes run after I had Exited. See attached.

Any thoughts?

Thunderbird runs slow...ie when I type an email I can easily type faster than thunderbird will accept characters....(this does not happen in other applications)...this happened about a month ago, and then stopped ( I have no idea why)...but the problem is back. I am running Ver 115.10.0 build 2024012173147. Rebooting windows 11 makes no difference.... I just tried to enter Troubleshoot mode and thunderbird stopped responding....Top line says Mozilla Thunderbird (Not Responding). Thunderbird is connected to my gmail account. ...and I run IMAP....with 'store all messages on the computer', but thunderbird wants to load every email from the server'

Without having done any active change: For some time TB seems to not have passed on mails from my alternative mail account. I cannot seem to find the previously functioning gmx account in my settings.

For two days now I do not receive any mails at all. Apparently I can send them, though.

I restarted the programme and tried in safe mode, to no avail.

I am a simple creature, please advise or enquire in a manner an exhausted non-tech person may be able to follow.

Every time I open TB email on my laptop I get the following page, which then exists as long as I am on TB. I can work-around this page to send and receive email. Here is the top half of the page:

After the latest update, Thunderbird does not open. On line instructions say to erase some programs in it's file location. Did that, and the program booted. However, today, it will not open again. Can you fix this issue with another release, or should I try to go back to the previous release? If so, how to go back to the previous release without losing all my set up? Cox.net is transitioning from in-house e-mail to e-mail handled by Yahoo.com. Our cox.net addresses are supposed to (and apparently have) transitioned so that they still work, but are processed through pop.mail.yahoo.com.

It is my turn to be transitioned and I have been successful in doing so to the extent that I can send and receive using my address(es) ...@cox.net through Yahoo web mail and on my Samsung phone. I have not, however, been successful in either sending or receiving mail using Thunderbird on my desktop.

I have been successfully using Thunderbird with POP settings for years with four different cox.net addresses. [I'm currently just trying to get two of them working -- unsuccessfully.]

I am using Windows 10 on a Dell desktop. I am using Thunderbird 115.9.0 (32 bit). I have reset the POP and SMTP settings as directed by Yahoo. One of the errors I receive is: "Error with Account .... Sending of password for ...@cox.net did not succeed. Mail server pop.mail.yahoo.com responded (SYS/TEMP) Server Error - Please try again later." It then asks me to retry or enter a new password. I have checked the passwords saved by Thunderbird and they are correct.

I suspect, that with all the Cox accounts being newly routed through Yahoo servers that I am not the only Thunderbird user experiencing this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it likely to help if I uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird? Would I loose all my mail, etc. if I did that? [I did the delete and add account in my phone and that was successful, but I wasn't concerned about losing mail there as it is all on my desktop.]

An IMAP mail system is configured on a server running Debian 12. While there are never any problems via webmail, reception and sending work occasionally via Thunderbird 115.9. Even in "Troubleshooting Mode" it doesn't work. The server has good hardware characteristics and there are no applications that can slow it down, nor do I think it is a firewall problem or incorrect parameters otherwise it would never work. The error is related to timeout reaching the server. What can I check to find out where the problem is?

Junk, Bin, Deleted confusion in email account There is confusion in Settings regarding Junk,Spam, Bin,or Deleted. When setting up Spam checks it refers to Junk folder where I have customarily used Spam folder and or Deleted/ Bin folder options which am now not able to set in the options available. Hi folks, I am wondering if there is a possibility to add a strikethrough icon to the compose window. I use strikethrough quite often and it is very inconvenient to go to the menu each time. I can find only addons for earlier versions of TB. Thanks

MacOS Sonoma 14.4 seems to have broken a number of apps. AFter updating to Sonoma 14.4 I experienced a great number of crashes with Thunderbird, so I completely uninstalled Thunderbird and removed all traces of plists, Application preferences, everything, reinstalled Thunderbird, and added back the two email accounts I use with it. It now takes up to 30 seconds to start up Thunderbird, after which it happily no longer crashes, but obviously the startup time is unacceptable. I experience the same problem with Typora, and the developers there informed me that they believe the problem is with a Sonoma change that broke WebKit. I don't know if Thunderbird still uses Gecko or if the new version is WebKit. Please let me know if other Sonoma users have reported this problem or if it's just my system.

Already invested time creating some html code for email signature on thunderbird. Wanted to create something prepared for dark modes on IOS. Everything was fine until I detected on IOS (dark mode)some white rectangles outside my email signature code. It´s a problem that I cannot solve because it´s outside my code, and I´m wondering if you are already aware of this issue.

I have had a few emails that did not show up in the inbox listing, so the message count at the top indicated more messages than were listed. Doing a search showed them, and by moving them from the search results to another folder, and then re-searching and moving them back, caused most of them to appear. But not all - I still have a message count of 20, but only 19 listed, see photo 1. Photo 2 shows the hidden email (from Barry Chandler). So the email is there, it's just not visible!

I received notification that my mailbox was full but I can't delete anything from the inbox, sent items or trash. It appears to delete but then it comes back. I've gone through the process of menu, help, profile, mail, trash but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. I've tried updating and it says it's updated. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

I want to prepare emails in advance (in the Outbox folder?) and have Thunderbird send them later, at a time that I specify when I prepare them. I looked at the Events and Tasks tab but I can't see how to do what I want with a task. All the prepared emails can be sent at the same time. Can it be done? Thanks Peter M

Thunderbird ściąga mi cały czas pocztę i dubluje. Zapycha mi komputer. WIem, ze mam skrzynkę 50Gb a na dyzku mam prawie 200 Gb w pliku, wg mnie ściąga raz na jakiś czas pocztę. Co mam zrobić? Arek

Thunderbird downloads and duplicates my mail all the time. It's clogging up my computer. I know that I have a 50Gb mailbox and I have almost 200Gb of files on my disk, so I think it downloads e-mail from time to time.

I can receive emails to my (protonmail.com server) email account on Thunderbird. But I cannot send emails. This is the error message. "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Error: no such user. Please check the message and try again."
