You only see the reset button on the about:support page if Firefox has been started with the default profile as listed in the profiles.ini file with a Default=1 entry.
What kind of problems do you have that you want to reset Firefox?
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
the problems I am having is that I can't get a video's to play all the way anymore. I corrected the problem about a year ago when the same thing was happening but forgot how I did it. I looked up some answers and one was to reset Firefox's setting to default mode. The instructions say to hit something on the firefox page but for the life of me, I can't find the page or thing to hit and you can't call someone unless as I have learned you want to pay someone from India to assist you. I kid you not. Anyway, my computer sucks using firefox but I prefer using it.
You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
- disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
- disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Hi there!
To reset Firefox to defaults, type "about:support" in the awesome bar. On the top-right corner, you'll see a "Reset Firefox" button.
Hope this helps ^.^
See you around!

I typed it in the url bar, is this the awesome bar? Anyway, nothing showed up that said to reset firefox. I am trying. I still can't even get to or find or start on the firefox page, so I am absolutely lost. thanks to all that are trying. I even tried to download firefox 21, and it started the process then just quit.....................
Hello sassybell1, see : How do I reset Firefox to its default state?
thank you
The reset button only appears on the about:addons page if Firefox is started with the default profile like I posted above.
If you use a desktop shortcut that launches a specific profile then you may not see the reset button on the about:addons page and you need to use the Profile Manager.
- (64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -P

thanks everyone. I do not have a clue how to fix my problem. I cannot find the page to find the reset. I am thankful for the info, but it is still foreign to me. Step back and see that I cannot get in the garage to start the car because I do not know where the garage is. The instructions say go to the garage, but does not tell me how to actually get there. If someone could give me a clear way to find the page, then I will follow instructions. Ideato, I have been there. It is confusing to me. It does not tell me how to get to the page. Where is the firefox page. Can someone tell me just what that page is. That would really be a good start. How about a URL, thanks
You can make a copy of the Firefox desktop shortcut and open the Properties via the right-click context menu. You can modify the target line of this shortcut and append a space and -P.
So you should see this:
- "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -P
That should start Firefox with the Profile Manager and allow to start Firefox with the default profile or create a new profile in case you want to test first to see if it works.
