how do I resize firefox windows on firefox 21.0

I accidently hit "enlarge window," and now the Firefox window fills up the whole computer screen and I absolutely cannot resize it. Since I have a Mac, I first called Mac Support and they worked with me for an hour and a half trying absolutely everything they knew. Couldn't do it !

I have the 21.0 Firefox browser in a 10.6.8 Mac operating system.

I can slide the screen around, but I cannot make it be the smaller size it was before. How do I fix this ?

Please answer in kindergarten simple language as I am an "old" person and just don't understand so many of the technical computer terms

Thank You

The following suggestion is based on how Firefox works in Windows. I'm not sure this works the same on Mac, but maybe it will.

Sometimes the file that stores window sizes and toolbar customizations becomes corrupted. You can rename or delete the file to restore defaults and customize from scratch.

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using

Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show In Finder" button

Switch back to Firefox and Exit

Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename localstore.rdf to something like localstore.old

Restart Firefox. Hopefully now everything will be back to normal.

Someone reported that the "grippy" that used to appear in the lower right corner disappears on some combinations of Firefox+Mac. However, another person reported that if you click on the lower right corner you can still resize the window the same way, it just looks different. Does that work for you?

Thank You ! to jscher2000 who solved my problem of not being able to get my Firefox 21.0 with a 10.6.8 Mac back to it's normal size.

This is what he/she wrote, and this is what worked:

PLEASE NOTE - I did not have to rename it. I just followed the directions up to "show in finder" and clicked on that and Firefox just automatically went to cleanup and then back to normal size by itself !
