Hello everyone! I have a really nasty problem (for almost 3 years now) that I just can't get a handle on (and I don't know the root cause 100% either). Here's my situation:
- We have a self-check-in terminal (kiosk) that is used in hotels
- The terminal runs a web app in FF full-screen kiosk mode (-kiosk flag)
- 99% of the time everything works fine and without any problems
- Sometimes though, the problem occurs that the entire browser content no longer responds to touch events
- My app continues to run, we see the visual feedback from the touch monitor, but Firefox no longer responds to anything
- If you connect via AnyDesk (our remote maintenance tool), you can click with the mouse
- Even the DevTools don't respond to touch interactions
- As I said, everything is fine via mouse interaction (remote)
What I have already tried:
- Disable hardware acceleration
- Browser restart every day at 4:00AM (so far so good, but it still happens sometimes in between of these restart windows)
- Set the widget.windows.window_occlusion_tracking.enabled to "disabled" - I read that the problem could be related to that
Does anyone know the problem and can help me? It's really critical for our business, as the guest cannot interact with the device and only a browser restart helps.
One more thing: I saw today that a second Firefox.exe process was running. After killing it, it worked again. What kind of process could it be that is affecting the main app so much?
THANK YOU
