I found this SearchNU crapware on my pc this morning, and removed it via the Control Panel. I also found some unwanted emoticon mess for my messenger on my desktop too. Removal via the Control Panel worked fine for me. I don't know how that garbage got on my computer, because it wasn't there last night. I ran CCleaner for good measure and also a full antivirus scan. I reset my homepage too.

I found out that the most likely culprit was the JZip my daughter downloaded when she visited my home on Thursday. I never noticed it, and it hadn't switched my homepage at that point.

I also found some program called JZip on my computer. It is associated with bandoo media. I got rid of it as well. So far, no more nasties.

-Tylerdowner - Thanks for this info. Checked it out, but the method I mentioned seems to have done the trick, will none-the-less, I am sure, find use for it in the future. By-the.way Searchnu never came up as a virus nor as malware on my anti-viral software/s, nor did it appear to be tracking, it simple presented itself as a search engine option. However, it appeared after a harddrive re-install, together with AVG (search and secure add-ons), both of which were at no time clicked on by me during the installation. The bit that really makes me throw a wobbly is that FF was downloaded from mozilla.org! It is also a first after many, many years! Thanks for your assistance.
