Whenever I press ctrl+d to save a bookmark the window that opens disappears and reappears constantly. It makes it extremely difficult to save my bookmark.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

In Firefox 4 and later Safe mode disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

It appears as though hardware acceleration seems to be the culprit in my case. I disabled it and now adding a bookmark functions as designed.

Thanks for the help cor-el

Thank You so much!! I was getting very frustrated not being able to save my bookmarks to the folder I wanted to because the bookmarks save box would disappear when I placed my cursor over it. I applied your "fix" to it and now it works! Thanks again!!
