In Firefox - which I prefer, the conduit (I think) is MIX.DJ and I do not want it. Chrome does not seem to be affected. Add/Remove programs does not work - it does not show there - I am using 7, nor does it show as an addon. The web is full of people with the same issue - although I am not sure if they are confined to Firefox

You should Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page Reset your search settings. In some cases you have to remove various search settings protectors from control panel, which revert settings back after browser restart. In such cases, scan with antivirus / antimalware programs. While conduit rarely does this, Mixi.DJ typically freezes the settings and scan is required.

Simply reset your Firefox or remove MixiDJ manually:

You may also try Junware removal tool:

And of course, don't forget to scan your computer with Malwarebytes, since the MixiDJ probably came with adware or PUP.
