cannot access http sites
I have installed Firefox 18.1 in Windows XP SP3 and after installation I am not able to browse any http sites, I can only browse https sites.
I do not have any addons or plugins installed.
What could be the reason for this and how can I resolve this?
Any help is highly appreciable.
Thanks

More Information
When I try to browse any http sites I get the following
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
