how do I turn on remember passwords for sites. The box is not available to check on my computer

Posted

When I go to the security settings, the box for "remember passwords for sites" is not highlighted but the other "box use a master password" is highlighted for me to check. How do I get the remember passwords for sites to be highlighted?

Do you have any Norton software installed?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

If your running Firefox in Private Browsing mode also disables this check box.

Tools > Options > Privacy: Use custom settings for history
Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"
