how to show message pane header

would like to sort emails in my inbox but there's no header to click on. how do I show the headers /

Looks like Gmail doesn't have this feature, and I don't think anyone has found a solution, other than to view (IMAP) or retrieve (POP3) your mail in a program such as Thunderbird or Outlook that has sorting capabilities.

This probably would depend on which email site you're using. For example, is it Yahoo! mail, Windows Live Hotmail, Gmail, etc.?

Or if your question is about the stand-alone Thunderbird program, their support site is over here: https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/home

thanks for your response. i'm using gmail. i've looked thru "settings" several times but still can't make it happen. can you help?
