The new tab (+) does not work, neither does the File/new tab function

Posted

The new tab (+) is not working. The File/New Tab function does not work either. Both had been working properly until midday today. I have not added any software, plug-ins, or extensions today, I do not have the Ask toolbar. I have tried several of the suggestions made on this site to no avail.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly in the current Firefox release.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
