can't open attachments in hotmail

Last week I found I could no longer open attachments in my Hotmail account using Firefox v 3.6.25. I have been using this version for quite awhile and this is a new problem. I did upgrade my Norton 360 to v 5.1.0.29. I have contacted Norton and they were unable to assist me. There is NO problem accessing these attachments when I switch to Chrome or Internet Explorer. Any ideas why Firefox has balked at this? I have cleared my cache and cookies. No help! Thank you, Ian

Upgrade your browser to Firefox 9 and check

Thanks for your reply, but... If a product is working prior to an Upgrade, then it should work at that level or higher post-upgrade. Do you not think? I did solve the issue by using the restore to previous date function on Windows 7. This solved the problem. The developers of Mozilla Firefox should discover what code has made changes in the way attachments are handled and fix this bug (?). Maybe a mass switch from Norton to AVG by subscribers would light a match under their chairs.
