Right click a blank part the the Tab Bar and then click the Customize button. In the panel which opens, click "Restore Default Set".

If you're in full screen mode (didn't quite understand what you meant), hit F11 to revert to normal mode.

I did all these things, right clicked the top tool bar but no "customize" comes up. My computer shut down and when it came back up, all my stuff was gone. Can anyone help? I tried going into safe mode as well but still no customize - no firefox button.

The status bar (you called it the 'task bar') has been removed in Firefox 4.0, but you can reinstate it by installing this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

To access the toolbar in full screen mode, hover the mouse at the top of the screen. You can also enable it permanently by doing the following:

  1. In the location bar at the top where you normally type in a web address, type about:config and hit Enter.

  2. In the filter at the top, copy/paste: browser.fullscreen.autohide

  3. Double click it to change the setting from "True" to "False".

  4. Close the tab.
