Help > About Mozilla Firefox = use the Check for Updates button near the middle of that dialog window

Firefox 4.0b8 is the latest beta, so you won't get any updates until Firefox 4.0b9 gets released.

If you want to be on the bleeding edge then there are always the Minefield nightly builds, but that is an entirely different chapter. Such builds can fail at anytime.

If you want to learn and keep informed about changes of the Firefox 4 nightly builds and beta versions then you can also visit the mozillaZine Firefox Builds forum. That forum also has daily threads that discuss the latest features and problem with current Minefield 4 nightly builds that are compiled and made available every day for testing.

Please visit a easy tutorial how to install FF4 here: http://techie-buzz.com/ubuntu/install-firefox-4-in-ubuntu.html

I like Methode 2, if you are running Debian try also this: http://blog.anantshri.info/howto-add-ppa-in-debian

Good luck!
