You probably need to allow cookies, there is no harm in this if you clear them regularly.

Does it still happen with default settings in a new browser profile? An easy way to test a new profile is to install Developer Edition and see if it happens there or refresh your existing profile. Make sure you stay signed out of your sync account when testing.

zeroknight thanks so much for answering, but I don't know how to do this. I don't know how to allow cookies. With some things I can do pretty well, but on other things I have no clue - don't understand terminology or how to do things. I went to Firefox preferences, and looked all around and the only thing I found was under security and privacy or whatever its called, if I choose custom and unclick cross-site cookies, but that did nothing. I can't find anywhere, where i can allow cookies. But more to the point, it was working fine until yesterday, I'm trying to figure out what ahppened to cause this, so i can undo it. My thought is it must have something to do with creating the new Mozilla account, so I could start using the gmail email instead of the aol. So I did create a new firefox or maybe its mozilla account a gmail account, when i click on firefox the old account (aol) comes up and i click choose another account, and go from there. I did all this yesterday and after that all this started. But if the only way anyone knows to get it to work is to allow cookies, I'd do it, but i don't know how or where to allow cookies. And what is a browser profile and how do i get a new one? also I apologize for my ignorance, but "stay out of your sync account" I have no clue what that means. I think unfortunately I need more step by step detailed instructions cause I have no clue what this means or how to do it. Sorry. Can anyone help me?

Google's reCAPTCHA technology appears to be having technical difficulties in some regions currently. Try changing the user agent with User-Agent Switcher to make the browser look like Chrome.

So let's just start off really slow & look at your cookies settings only. There isn't a phrase that says "Allow cookies" anymore like when Firefox was first created. Now there's a lot of wording added to the cookies area to include other stuff that advertisers use to track you. They combined this into the cookies area.

Here's my explanation of it: There are 3 options. All of these options allow cookies.

The 1st option: Standard It blocks a lot of items that track you & blocks a security threat called "Cryptomining". Everyone usually picks this 1st option.

2nd option: Strict This blocks much more items than option #1 Standard. It can sometimes causes errors or break parts of websites because it's a very strong blocking option.

3rd option: Custom You can put a checkmark on all the boxes or just a few of the boxes to customize how many things you are blocking.

So that 3rd option, Custom, where you unclicked "Cross-site tracking cookies" was the right way to see if you could fix Tineye.

But the problem with Tineye asking to verify you're human happens for weird reasons. Sometimes its due to a issue with Cloudflare or corrupted cookies that need to be erased. Or even sometimes a addon you're using needs to be disabled to make the verify you're human popup go away. I've seen Useragent Switcher & Referrer Modifier addons causing it before & the site will get stuck in a "Verify your Human" loop no matter how many times you solve the pictures.

So Zeroknight could be right & its a issue with reCaptcha. But check your addons area & if you have either Useragent Switcher or Referrer Modifier, disable them, go back to Tineye.com, reload the page & see if its back to normal.

OK yall NoahSUMO and Zeroknight I was able to allow cookies (which still isn't something I wanna do but ok as long as it doesn't allow anything nefarious to happen) and now as far as I can tell, it works! I know I should continue on and learn more, as I still don't have a clue what "make the browser look like chrome" means and some of the other stuff - I don't use and never have used chrome so don't know what it looks like or how to make anything look like it - so lots I don't know, but it seems to be working SO THANK YOU BOTH SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME and patience with me! I REALLY APPRECIATE THIS!! Now, if someone can tell me why this happened and if it had anything to do with me creating a new account due to my aol issues, and how I can get back to using all this while still continuing to block cookies, thatd be perefect! But this is very much appreciated Tineye works now! Thanks so much!

Hi got your most recent emails and sorry for the trouble, I don't know how to do all this but I am learning. I started another thread or whatever you call it cause I thought the first one was replied to and would get overlooked when I still needed help. I will gladly mark as "solved" because you all helped me out and I got tineye to work, but I left it that way cause the real problem is why do i have to allow cookies now? Firefox / mozilla is great with all the tools they have to avoid tracking etc and encourage blocking cookies, which is what I really want to do. Thats why I left it unsolved. I'd like to run it as before, blocking cookies and be able to run tineye. Since this is all (I assume tineye is part of mozilla in some way?) firefox/mozilla it seems to me they should be able to fix this? Anyway, that's really what I want - to be able to continue to block cookies and run tineye as before. That'd really solve the problem. Is that possible? Again my apologies and thanks for the help!

No problem Dan! Glad we could help. And we appreciate YOU because something like 80 to 90% of users don't return to their forum threads after we send them advice on how to fix the problem. Some people don't return because they don't have enough time between working all day & caring for their families. But others who can come back to let us know we solved their issue, often don't come back. So THANK YOU! ;)

All the questions you've asked about if its possible to go back to blocking all cookies & why this happened in the first place are fair to ask. I personally hate cookies & think they're the scourge of the earth. I used to delete 100s to 1000s advertising & tracking cookies manually before I got smart about it & started blocking them all.

The great news is you can return to blocking all cookies. Please try to return to your original cookie blocking settings & revisit Tineye. The problem turned out to be a small change Google made to one of their reCAPTCHA scripts. It's that checkbox that asks you to prove you're human & not a robot. The script was only causing the nonstop loop issue for Windows users & not Mac or Linux. Alot of people came to these forums & banded together & investigated the hell out of this issue & identified the exact problem. Many sites besides Tineye were affected by this change Google made so that's what got so many people to come here & help figure out the problem together.

So to summarize, this problem was not caused by Firefox. It was all Google. They just released a updated script but didn't properly test it.

Just know in the future, that you may have to enable cookies for some really stubborn sites. But for the most part you should be able to block them all & temporarily allow cookies for sites that really need it then clear them when you exit Firefox.

So try going back to blocking all cookies & report back here so we can confirm your problem is still solved.

Also when you created a new Moziila account because of your problems with your AOL email that did not cause your issues with Tineye. I forgot to mention that.

Hi no thanks to me are in order, I'm glad to reply and give feedback, seems like the least I can do and the right thing to do for someone that has spent time trying to help me (for free!) If you have a supervisor or someone who should know, I'd be happy to let them know that you're doing a great job, above and beyond what I was hoping for! Just let me know how or who to contact. Now, I hate to keep going on and on, but I have a mac, I use an iMac desktop, and obviously this happened, so now wondering if the issue as you described is even the problem here? I tried to click solved the problem to the 1153 comment and leave the 150 comment unclicked, but it took both away and indicated everything was resolved, so I was afraid then you or anyone would never see this. So as I say, I hate to keep going on and on, and I will try blocking cookies and seeing if it works now, but I'm just trying to get to the bottom of why this happened so I can understand what's going on, and prevent it if possible in the future.
