i recently disabled 2fa and installed a new authentication app: Ente Auth. i keep getting invalid code each time i enter the generated code. i tried both options, scanned the QR code and entered the secret key manually. i used authy with success as my auth. app with firefox but can't use authy anymore. keep having issues setting up 2fa with other auth apps. thanks for any help you can offer. peace, Adrian

Mozilla has asked me to 'approve a sign-on'. They've sent me an Authorisation Code but I don't know how to approve the sign-on. What do I need to do, please.

I DO NOT OWN A SMART PHONE.X IS ASKING ME TO PROVE I'm human by scanning a QR code with a smart phone in order to log in to my account. It was told to me that this will allow me to scan that code. I am leery about using it as Mozilla does not monitor it. It gets mostly good reviews but people complain about stability. I will just use it once to get into my account. When I want to login with my Firefox account it asks me for a code as 2 factor but I can't remember that I ever signed up for 2 -factor . I have 2 apps fro 2 factor: google and Microsoft but neither has Mozilla identification in it. I would like to sign up for 2 factor but it looks like someone already did that for me. What now?

Hi Folks, I can't seem to setup MFA via my Mozilla profile. I'm using the Google Auth App on my mobile. Have checked that time is synced correctly. Have tried setting up on my mobile and PC. Shall I try a different Authenticator App?

I am having trouble setting up Two-step authentication.

After I scan the QR code and enter the code, I am presented with below error: Incorrect two-step authentication code

I first tried scanning the QR code using Microsoft Authenticator app, which did not work. I then tried scanning a new QR codeGoogle Authenticator app, which did not work. I then tried to manually enter the secret key into Google Authenticator app, which also did not work. I then tried scanning another new QR code with the Twilio Authy Authenticator app, which also did not work.

Can anyone help to resolve?

Trying to recover Hotmail account pop up by Mozilla says to insert security key into USB. i don't have one. Never had one. Restricts me from continuing recovery. Can you help please.

I cannot log in to iCloud.com, even after setting a popup block exception. When I click on the "go" arrow after entering password, I get a notice on my iPhone to allow access. After I approve, I get a 6-digit verification code on the iPhone. But no popup window appears on the Firefox tab, so I can enter the code. Any suggestions?

Hello, I am 70, it is not possible for me to go to my gmail and get a code and retrieve where I have to write the code in 5 minutes. If you have a solution, please tell me how to do that. Otherwise, I will give up.

When on laptop, I want to synchronize account to desktop. I try to log on but need to get authorization code. The code takes an unreasonable amount of time to arrive, to my phone sms or email. Please allow me to use a different way of logging in so that I don't have time to forget what I'm doing... signed grumpy old man Cheers, George

I'm trying to setup 2fa on my account. It requires sending a code to my email which I then use to verify. These codes consistently are sent outside of the time window and as a result expired. I've added accounts@firefox.com to my contacts, and I've tried this on firefox desktop and firefox mobile on an iphone, and both produce the same results.

I'm on a gmail account and gmail flags these emails as suspicious despite being added as a contact, which likely means they are poorly formatted. Despite this flag, they are still sent to my inbox when they finally arrive.

This is incredibly frustrating as this is a service provided by basically every company and yet I have never seen it perform this poorly as it has with firefox.

To sign into my Amazon account, I'd like to enter only my email address and my password.

But I have to enter my email address and my passkey. A verification code is then sent to my email address. I then need to enter that verification code to complete signing into Amazon.

On the Amazon's Sign in page (where I enter my passkey), it says "This request comes from the app 'firefox.exe' by "Mozilla Corporation".

How do I disable the two-factor (aka two-step) authentication for Amazon in Firefox?

Just to be extra safe I tried using my account recovery key and it told me it was invalid. I was luckily only testing and am still signed in, so I made a new key, and copy pasted it directly from where I made it, and it still told me the key was invalid.

I have a fingerprint scanner and a slot for a security key, but I have never used a security key, either in the slot or a USB plugin.

When I try to go to Gmail, I enter my gmail address, and then Firefox pops up a screen wanting me to insert my security key, and there are no buttons to change how I verify my identity.

I've hunted all around for what setting in Firefox is causing it, but no luck so far. Ideas?

I'm keep receiving mails to verify my account, when I open the link, it redirects me to my Mozilla account but everything seems to be in order and y don't want my account to be deleted. How am I supposed yo verify it? I have Two-step authentication, the Account recovery key, a Secondary email and I even singed in several devices.

I was trying to setup 2FA on my Mozilla account on Firefox pc browser (140 version). The process completes without issues with Aegis authenticator app, I download the backup codes and I even get the email confirming the recovery phone number was added. On the Mozilla accounts page 2FA turns to enabled. (I'm on Windows11 with latest Firefox browser version)

However after a simple refresh, it turns back to disabled. I repeated the process and same thing happens. Same even on Firefox Android. What could be the issue here?
