I frequently have to toggle on the translate feature to view pages in the country I’m living in. When the translate feature is active, and if I am filling out a web-form, I am unable to leave/minimize the page (say, to go to the notes app to copy and paste an ID number, address, etc), because once I return Firefox blinks and empties the form. I only notice this when translate is on, no other time. So I have to fill out forms in another language or make sure I have all important info literally written on paper to keep from having to leave the app for any reason. Is there a workaround?

I went to a website and downloaded a file and now websites are in Spanish instead of my language. What can I do to fix this issue? I have already confirmed the language settings are correct.

This issue only pertains to the Chinese language and is not a website problem. In the startup settings, when the option to open previous windows and tabs is enabled, after keeping several web pages and re-entering the browser, Firefox will attempt to open the previous tabs. However, if a new tab is selected at this time, the search bar should normally display 'Use Baidu to search, or enter a URL,' but in reality, the characters for 'Baidu' appear as garbled text. This bug consistently occurs in this version. This issue only appeared after I automatically updated Firefox a few days ago; I have never encountered this problem before. May I ask everyone, how should this problem be resolved?

Around 12-14 August 2026, there was an update pushed for the Thunderbird client esr (extended support release). My current version is 153.1.0esr. After the update, some of my new e-mail received question mark characters '?' instead of content in Traditional Chinese.

I could view the affected e-mail on the e-mail server, but not on the recently updated Thunderbord client. The issue only exists after the recently update of thunderbird esr in August 2026.

Not all e-mails in Traditional Chinese were affected, just some of them.

Is there any change for the language encoding recently? What should I do to resolve the issue?

If I select (highlight) one word, or a small number (~3) and right-click, the context menu will always display "Translate Selection to Dutch" as one of the options. If I select a few more, it will switch to "Translate Selection to English" (assuming that what has been selected is not English).

Example: "rouvre la porte" vs "rouvre la porte au nucléaire"

I have English (United States) [en-us] and English [en] in Settings as my "Website language". Possibly related: full page translation always defaults to English, too.

Hi All,

I was writing an email, and completed a spell check where I had written "inital" instead of initial. I clicked on replace with Initial as I have done with many errors in the past, but this time the change wasnt made to the text before the email was sent.

Now, whenever I write inital as a test, it is no longer underlined in red and the spell checker is happy with it.

I have checked the personal dictionary list to see if I added it by mistake but its empty. Also, If I choose another english dictionary i.e. English (United Kingdom) it is once again recognised as a typo.

Is there a way for me to remove and reinstall the Australian English dictionary, or is there an easier solution I can try?

I am a relative newcomer to Linux but can follow terminal directions if provided. Thanks for your help!

arabic language is not available to select for installation , it is the tongue of more than 400 millions and of 6 official languages in UN ,while some languages are there to small countries like lithuania and latvia

Every time I use translate I need to select the destination language. Am I missing something because this is really annoying. It's quicker to screenshot and use a third party translator which is frankly mad.
