Since around April 2026 , the "Show in folder" option (in "Display the progression of ongoing downloads") does not work anymore when a file is downloaded on a NAS drive . I use a Qnap TS-231P NAS .

Trying to download a QFX file to an account in my Quicken Classic file. I have done it 100's of times without issue. Now Firefox is downloading the file as a PDF not a QFX. How do I correct the error? Instead of the data from the bank downloading to my Quicken account, this shows on my screen. "PDF VIEWER PLUS SE" "CANNOT OPEN FILE C:/users/herb/downloads/transactions-68.qfx" How can I fix this?

Hello - downloads have started on my Mac desktop - do not know what they are - and they seem to be ever 4 hours. I have attached a screenshot of my download file. Any advice would be appreciated.

Is anybody could tell me how to switch off or block FireFox download manager on android? I try to understand what is the reason to introduce this solution, but I can't. Android has download manager which sending notifications after every download, so why I am forced to clear that notifications twice - once in android and second time in FireFox? Is anybody could explain me that? Because I'm so stupid to understand this. I don't want to manage my downloads from FireFox and I want to remove it or switch-off. So please somebody help me

Download arrow shows 5 recently added downloads. Clicking on the folder Icon next to the file does nothing. I cannot open file location. I tried Troubleshooting mode, didn't help. I have totally removed FireFox using Revo Uninstaller Pro and reinstalled with no avail. What's next?

Hi, on my new PC with Windows 11 Firefox shows "save as" window after the download is complite. How can I change it so that this window appears before download starts?

I have personal files on rapidgator.net & premium account. if i try to download one of this files on firefox my speed is only 2-4Mb/s if i try to download with JDownloader the speed is 45-55Mb/s (one single file) This has been happening since October 2025...

I have windows 10. Every time I download a file and then go to open it, I get "File Download-Security Warning" this is new and never got that before. How do i eliminate the warning . This only happens when using Firefox..Chrome works fine. I have tried everything and changed more setting in the registry that i can count and have asked Perplexity and Grok plenty of questions with no positive results.

I have Firefox set to "ask me every time" what to do with doc and docx files. When I click on one, I get the popup shown in the image. As it shows, for some reason, okular (a pdf viewer) is shown as the pre-selected "open with" option. The dropdown menu also includes LibreOffice Writer, and says (correctly) that this is the default program.

I cannot find any setting on my system where Okular has been associated with doc files. So I think this is a Firefox problem.

How do I remove Okular from this dropdown, or at least make LibreOffice Writer the default pre-selected option?

Firefox automatically creates an empty "Downloads" folder in my home directory that I don't need. My browser settings specify a different file save path. How can I stop this? I'm using Firefox 151.0.4 and Rosa Linux 13.2 (Fedora clone).

Hello to everybody, I repeat my question and hope it can besolved persistantly: Opening local .mdb files (MS Access database) does no longer work in Firefox 139, but was ok in previous releases. The only choice is to save the file rather than opening it with the application MS access. Under Firefox settings/applications the file type .mdb does not appear, nor do I have a choice to decide how to open it. I expect to find an entry for .mdb files where to choose "always ask" as was the case earlier. Please help! Regards Volker Zipp

Why would the developers of Firefox remove the ability to select where an attachment can be saved?

This is like going back to the dark ages of web browsing.

I receive many attachments for my job, I don't want them all to save in the same location. It's a pain to have to retrieve them from my "Downloads" (or whatever) folder, to put them where they belong. This is not a small thing. It's a real pain to have everything go to the same location.

Other browsers allow you to choose where to save a particular file. I think Firefox used to allow that, too. Why would you change this?

I use Firefox for my work emails, but I think I will need to switch to another browser. 

I support a number of people in my job. I have been recommending Firefox to use. That will stop now.

Is is possible to disable the Autorun feature for downloaded video files in Firefox? I tried the Settings, Privacy & Security, Autoplay changing the setting to Block Audio & Video, but after the file downloads it still runs automatically.

I recently migrated from Chrome to Firefox. As you can see on the screenshots, I have on Chrome the possibility to download the video I am playing by clicking the three dots. This button is not displayed on Firefox. How can I solve this issue. Deactivating Ublock doesn't change anything.
