I need help to remove a Thunderbird message "Welcome to Freedom" which pops up every time I open Thunderbird to read or write mails. Can you remove it, please? Or advice me how to remove it. Thank you Kind regards Kirsten Liljegren [redacted]@gmail.com

1. 1 there should be an option to put the menu with the delete button at the bottom, not top.
2. 2 Unified inbox is great, but why not unified everything. Unified spam,.sent, deleted etc. Blue mail does it and it's very useful.

Those are the 2 main things. Anything else is not important but nice. E.g.

1. 3 Options for a bit more colour or ability to colour things, like accounts or senders.
2. 4 One click unsubscribe for emails

Other than that it's utterly awesome and feels very stable, unlike the new release of Blue Mail.

I don't want to follow football. I don't want to see world time. I don't want to download Firefox for mobile. I don't want to change my home screen background. I don't want any new widgets automatically enabled.

Kindly tell me if there are any setting/options/flags (including in about:config ) to avoid any new popups about all those very useful features for as long as possible.

Whereas on my other computers with the same account I can see all my Emails of years past, on my main computer suddenly and without any understandable reason only the mails of about the last four weeks are accessible and probably saved, be it in the default folder or a local one. I use Norton and Malwarebytes, but so i did already before the change took place. What can I do to reverse Thunderbird to its normal behaviour?

I had tbird set up just how I liked it on my laptop. Then the laptop screen hinge broke and I had to replace it. Have installed tbird on new machine but cannot find the setting I need. I want the message preview pane to be on the bottom instead of on the right side of screen. I also need to know how to import my contacts from the old machine.

When I open the sentmail folder, I want the receiptants name (email address) to show in the list of emails sent instead of my name (email address). How do I resolve this?

Version 152.0.1 running on Windows 11 Desktop (25H2 Build 36200.8655) on high end PC (Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090) has a harder to use interface using Privacy and Settings. Previous versions allowed one screen access to clearing the browser cache of Cookies and setting the Customised Tracking Protection. Now I have to delete the browser cache then click on Advanced Settings, then Customise Tracking Protection so two more Clicks (menu Selections) to do what used to be available on the first screen after clicking/selecting Privacy and Security.

I can use the mouse side buttons to revert (Cherry device) screen forwards and backwards but it is still two extra actions. Used to do quite a bit of Beta testing for FastCad (Mike Riddle Evolution Computing) and this was often designed to keep any action only 2 levels deep. I also denested the (drop down) menus to get rid of the 'flyout menus' items in a drop down to simplify access. One of the better interfaces of any CAD program ever designed. Better than Rhino (which I use) with it's 1200 command icons to remember...even though that is far from the worst. Icons harder to rememeber than text btw.

To this day there are many programs that do not allow this denesting or those that put choices way down a string of menu picks. I find this approach very hard to decipher and not at all intuitive. Some like Creo from PTC are really difficult. Please revert the 'improvement' to the prior state so both clearing the cache and setting the level of Tracking Protection can be done from one screen. I use this several times a day to keep the chance of any unwanted software finding it's way into the box to a minimum.

I hope this is constructive criticism for what is a great product. Thanks all at Mozilla for their hard work and helping us users keep safe on the Web.

Hi,Sorry to post this again,But I have spent over 4 hours trying every thing I can to correct it Since the last update,It totally Changed all my settings I managed to correct them,all BUT one & even though I have tried & Tried,I cannot remove SEARCH BAR on Toolbar Menu I have Been Through all Firefox Settings But Nothing Works & I have even removed all extensions,but NOTHING WORKS It was never on it before until the Update & it is a total Nuisance plesaea assist Thank you Darryl

I use Thunderbird with Threaded View enabled and would like to keep using it.

What I am looking for is a way to have Thunderbird automatically keep older threads collapsed, while allowing threads that contain new or unread messages to remain expanded or become expanded automatically.

For example, a thread receives a new message - it is fine for that thread to be expanded. All other existing threads without new activity should remain collapsed. When Thunderbird is restarted, I would like older threads to stay collapsed rather than having many previously viewed threads expanded.

Is there a setting, hidden preference, add-on, or workaround that provides this behavior?

I am using Thunderbird on Kubuntu Linux.
