I have an account - david.woodcock@skynet .be that is no longer active. But Thunderbird is still trying to connect to it and download messages. How do I stop Thunderbird from trying to access this account?

Seit kurzen kann ich beim senden einer Nachricht keinen Anhang mehr hinzufügen, es öffnet sich kein Auswahlfenster mehr, was am 8.09.26 das letzte mal noch funktionierte. Weder über die Büroklammer, noch übers Menü Datei-Anhängen-Datei(en). Es passiert einfach Nichts.

In der Update-Chronik sehe ich am 19.09.26 ein Update auf 153.1.1esr !? Habe deshalb das neueste Update 153.4.0esr heruntergeladen und installiert, aber ohne Erfolg.

Hat jemand ne Idee? Ausgerechnet jetzt wo ich in den nächsten Tagen die Funktion dringend bräuchte...

A few days ago someone sent me an email with a .png file attached. Normally .png files open in something called Microsoft Photos but I accidentally selected to view it in PhotoPad, rather than in Photos. Now, every time someone sends me a .png attachment, Thunderbird always opens it in PhotoPad.

Is there somewhere where I can correct this so that in future, they'll go back to opening in Photos?

My Thunderbird app takes some minutes to start up. Updates are OK, troubleshooting does not show any failures. Emailing functions well, no problems. There is a new problem: dragging files to my Explorer has stopped to function.

I have a good HPPro "Desc 400 G5 MT"" PC running on Windows 11 (no problems).

Kindly advice actions to take. Do I loose my Address Book in case I uninstall my Thunderbird and Install a new copy of the Programme. Yours - Jarl Jaatinen, Finland

Hello David and thank you for your prompt answer. The situation between my mails ubfortunately remain the same. Nothwithstanding my re-installation of Thunderbird. I run a "HP ProDesk 200 GS MT" PC with Windows 11 and full virus protection etc. I clean my PC and run troubleshooting regularly. Never any problem. And now: Thunderbird opens at command and can be moved on my screen with minutes of delay. I can select mail address book and calender but I can not use them. Incoming ermails show on the screen but I can noy open them. If a drag an incoming mail to my Explorer app, then Explorer gets blocked and I must restart my PC. I can not open the Send Mail function. I can not open older mails on the Expolrer. Thus I am completedly stuck. Can you fix this problem? In case you can not assist me, I will load the Outlook program to get going. When I try to start Thunderbird on my Windows 11 laptop it does not start properly It is haging ond after a whike i get a message that thunderbird does not respond ("svarar inte" in swedish). Sometimes if I try to reinstall Thunderbird it starts up, But today nothing happens.

I see a "Thunderbird ESR" notice appears when I open my laptop. I searched to see what it means. I'm still confused. 1) where did it come from? 2) is it best for me? I am a senior not interested in lots of changes (except improvements), but I am not an organization. Should I do anything or just leave it?

This email problem is due to a pop-up message in upper left hand corner of screen that shows a pencil followed by the words "Write"=: (no subject) - Thunderbird" with a number of clickable and unclickable options listed below, none of which lead to any access to writing a new email? I booted my system twice and that made no difference. Also when I explored the options listed in the upper left corner of the screen, an old email address came up, which I no longer use more than 10 years ago but have never been able to delete from my system's memory.

I have been having all my email transferred from Yahoo mail for more than a decade, it used to be Frontier net, and i didnt want to change my email, and i havent, so i transfered it on 3 devices because i am very used to the thunderbird format. It still works on my android phone and my HP laptop, but thunderbird will not allow me to sign in to yahoo mail on my PC which is what we use the most for our email, for some reason yahoo made some changes and required a new sign in so i did that on the other 2 devices, however, when the sign in box from yahoo pops up on our PC it always says " OOPS something went wrong" and i called yahoo and they verified it was not them. Which leaves Thunderbird to fix the problem. Please address this as i still Do Not want to change my email address or the Thunderbird Mail which we are used to. Some things are okay just as they are, so i would like some help from your end. Thank you, Richard Sessums.

I have 5 email addresses on my Thunderbird set up. I want to change the order in which they appear so that the addresses I use most frequently appear at the top. I have tried drag and drop and that does not work and I cannot find a relevant article searching on Support. Any ideas please?

Running Windows 11 Home and Tbird 153.4.0esr. Tbird configured with IMAP. I have many years worth of emails stored in my Tbird profile folder. Profile folder is 25 GB.

I want to delete the bodies of all emails in the profile folder but retain the subject lines to minimize the size of the profile folder (while keeping bodies of all emails on the server). Then I can retrieve any email from the server.

Anyone do this successfully without losing emails? Is there a step-by-step procedure for doing this on the Mozilla website? (Google is giving me an Ai answer but not a link to a Mozilla answer.)

I have been struggling to find some messages specific to specific dates and spend an awful amount of time tryomh yo access the correct one.

The solution proposed is a bit unclear to me, as it refers to "future folders". I need to unthread all my messages. Is this possible?

PS The only version number i could find was for Firefox. There does not seem to be one for Thunderbird.

I have Thunderbird configured to log in to 3 separate email accounts, one of which is a Yahoo email account. Several days ago, a message appeared that notified me that Thunderbird would not connect to the imap account in Yahoo. I tried changing the password by logging in to the Yahoo account via my browser, but Thunderbird still gives the error message. Do I need to delete the Yahoo account from Thunderbird and start over, or is there something else that can fix Thunderbird so I can use it for all 3 email accounts? Thank you.

I have had Thunderbird for a number of years on the same Windows 10 laptop. Current version 153.4.0esr (64-bit) updated today/yesterday trying to resolve the issue. I am able to retrieve messages from two accounts one earlier than the other but not to send any message. None of the others either hotmail, live or gmail. I was able to check individually the email inbox directly and all seems correct. I checked the profiles and found only one. Also old Mail folder for pop no longer in use. ImapMail seems to be correct. As I am writing another account has received messages but unable to send any.

This seems really weird! No error messages, or warning , just does not want to behave normally
