I'm in the process of cleaning up Thunderbird e-mail before moving to a new computer. I started with 11,593 e-mails in my Inbox and 7,799 e-mails in my Sent folder. I'm now down to 7,634 in my Inbox and 4,965 in my Sent folder. I've allocated 2 weeks for this process and found that it's taking me about 3 hours per day to meet my daily goals. I'm finding that I'm spending at LEAST half the time responding to "Empty-Trash/Compact-folders" requests. There are times I can delete 50 e-mails at a time without getting a request. Other times I will try to delete ten e-mails and get the request. With the old version of Thunderbird I could literally delete hundreds of e-mails at a time. Can you help? Russ Bukwa Yardley, PA ps. to make Thunderbird more attractive, but now I'm having constant problems. The interface has become schizophrenic, and every time I open it, the icons have a different style, so I've been forced to disable the add-ons.

The question is, are there any supported add-ons left? I can't find any on the website. :(

Hi! I'm trying to set Thunderbird as the operating system default under Win 11. I tried to follow Mozilla's instructions: 1. Open the Settings application by pressing and releasing the Windows Start button, then clicking the gear icon. 2. Click the Apps icon, then click Default Apps in the list. 3. Click the icon under the heading Email to show your choices. 4. Select Thunderbird. The trouble is that at n. 3 there is no choice. There is only 'OutlookAccounts' and this item cannot be deleted or replaced. Can you help? All the best, Robifiori

Copied Thunderbird Profile on old computer to external HDD. Name assigned was zs6…. Installed TBird on new Win10 PC, omitting sign-in procedure. On this PC, clicked Menu, Help, Troubleshooting Info. Opened Profile folder on this PC, left-clicked Roaming, closed TBird. Copied zs6… from ext HDD, pasted onto TBird folder C:\users\owner\appdata\roaming on new PC. Clicked Yes to replace any existing files. Opened \roaming\thunderbird\profiles zs6…. not in there. TBird launches again in Setup. What am I doing wrong?

Am I the only one that finds it almost impossible to change fonts. I can change what I type to Large. But that's all. I can't change anything I Cntrl-V into a message. Or inherit text in the process of a reply.

Recently I opened Thunderbird and it automatically added the following folders to my account:

All the generic yellow folders below the Deleted trash can icon suddenly appeared and they weren't there or weren't shown before. I right-mouse clicked on the account folder, went to Subscribe, unticked the folders that I don't want to subscribe to (all the yellow ones were there), restarted Thunderbird and they all still appeared and the boxes I unchecked, had just rechecked themselves.

I don't want them shown. Is there anyway to fix this?

I don't like threaded conversations view. I turned it off so my inbox doesn't show it any more, but search results do and I find it impossible to find what I need. Is it possible to turn off ALL of those threading features across the entire program? Thanks

Using Tbird 78.14.0 (64 bit) with Windows 10. I can no longer access the Page Setup screen properly. I suspect it's because I accidentally put a very big value in for the top margin. The print preview for even a short email says it's many pages, there's no text visible on any of those pages, the only part of the Page Setup screen visible is OK and Cancel at the bottom, and I can't get to the top of the screen. I've tried closing and re-opening Tbird to no avail. How can I get to the top of the Page Setup screen to fix the problem?

Hi, I download some e-mails. After checking the emails, I want all of them to be deleted from thunderbird but... ...I want only specified emails deleted from server.

In Mac's "Mail" program, there was a special window, where I could see all e-mails on server and just select which I want to remove from server.

In old Outlook, I've used "Rules". There I could set the parameters for specified e-mails and then tell outlook to "leave that message on server" or "Don't download that message from server".

How to do it in Thunderbird?

I continually receive this request for access to an account that is not one I have added to Thunderbird. How can I delete this email account and stop these annoying repetitive notices???

I grew too used to the zebra striping pattern in my message list, but could not find a way of implementing it in Thunderbird settings. I'm using version 139.0.2 - aarch64.

I did try to use the code available in this forum, which involves creating a folder "chrome" in the user profile and then a file userChrome.css under it. I did turn on toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets and understand this is not recommended, but it did not make any difference anyways.

Any pointer would be much appreciated.

ich habe für Windows [PC] und Android [Pixel 8pro] jeweils die beiden aktuellsten Versionen von 'Thunderbird x64'und 'Thunderbird: Free Your Inbox' installiert und eingerichtet. Es sind zwei E-Mail-Konten mit jeweils einer Alias-Adresse eingerichtet, alles unter GMX.NET , IMAP+SMTP sind ebenfalls aktiviert [IMAP port993 und SMTP port465]. Leider bekomme ich es nicht so eingerichtet, daß Mails wenn sie am PC oder am Pixel empfangen und verschoben oder gelöscht oder als Spam markiert sind, daß dieses dann auch am jeweils anderen Endgerät so erscheint. Es werden immer wieder alle Mails neu als eingegangene Nachrichten gezeigt und ich muß dann am jeweils anderen Endgerät die gleichen Aktionen vornehmen.

Wo liegt der Fehler, was muß ich tun um das Problem zu beheben.

I've never used them and can't imagine allowing them to clog my message headings so I uncheck them when I find them.

A delete button is not available for the 'read message' pane. In the older versions of TB around v60, I could have the same toolbar in the inbox and all the panes. Is there a way to resolve this annoyance. I had the upgrade to a later version because MS changed the security settings from 'Normal Password' to 'OAuth2' which apparently does not work with TB v60. Thanks for any help. I have been using TB for many years. btw, I also miss having the 'Account Colors' extension which is not available (or compatible) with the later TB versions.

The arrow is tiny and hard for me to see (as well as the vertical bar for selecting text). In other programs it is quite large. I have the LXQt cursor size set to 60. How can I increase the size for TB? How can I make it invert color so as to have good contrast always?

I recently installed 128.10.2esr (64-bit) on a Win11 computer. There's no option under "View, Toolbars" for it. Was it removed in this version or am I missing something?
