I have an @proton.me email account that I am trying to include on Thunderbird for visibility, however I was not able to do that because it said the proton.me server would not recognize the settings. Is there some way for that email address to be on my Thunderbird email program

Hi! Since I've installed Thunderbird on my new computer with Windows 11, I've now twice experienced the disappearance from my inbox of a bunch of emails. Never had this before with Thunderbird. Could it be something needs doing in Settings (I couldn't find any relevant options)? The emails weren't among the newest, but they were all important.

This is, frankly, embarrassing and pathetic. I'm really mortified at how this company presents itself as "a family" of "volunteer friends and community members" who are "happy to share their time" to "kindly solve the issues [we] have" when the reality is that everyone knows Thunderbird is broken, buggy, Windows Vista-tier technology maintained by a corporation actively pushing AI companions on its browser users but legions of Reddit upvotes and moderation manipulation obfuscate the level to which the client:

-fails to retrieve emails -fails to adjust to user settings -is obtuse and difficult to understand -is easily compromised by manipulative technology (BitDefender STILL has "administrative control" over Thunderbird MONTHS after being totally removed from my PC and after numerous "fixes") -fails to connect to the internet itself, despite all other programs on the PC doing so -fails to operate on even the level of the old, now-sunsetted Windows Mail program

And the responses to these grievances are condescension and gaslighting that demonstrate why the stereotype of programmers as "divorced men in their 50s" exist. I have seen people accused of "being angry," "making problems where there are none," and "misunderstanding" Thunderbird. If users do not understand Thunderbird or your documentation... that is because YOU have failed to properly DOCUMENT or present its UI/UX features, and shows YOU are poor programmers with overinflated egos.

Honestly, I sincerely hope Mozilla was purchased secretly by a crypto scheme or something. Because if these are the same people, all along? The sheer small amount of power it takes to corrupt is so pathetically small to me that this isn't even a villain arc, it's like seeing someone take a collection plate and just hold on to it and claim it was a master plan.

I downloaded all my emails from my .com mailbox into Mozilla Thunderbird. I could see all of them for about three days, and I was very happy to have them stored locally, as I am planning to move my mailbox elsewhere.

However, today all folders appear empty in Thunderbird and I can no longer see the emails, even though I can see that the files are still stored on my computer.

I have been trying for hours to solve this problem with the help of AI, but without success.

Could you please help me restore or display the emails that were downloaded locally?

I used to download my emails from my IP mailbox and read them later. I did this weeks ago but can't find them now. Is there a special way to access them or did I need to do something different to save them before closing TB? Several different files (directories) have not been disturbed but the main email in-box download does not have the previous download of a couple hundred emails.

I cannot print any emails without the first page showing all this technical garbage (to me). I have spent some hours trying to find a fix, and don't know what it is called nor how to eliminate it - I assume it is some setting or add-on. My Thunderbird account setting says I am using the latest update. Please see the example attached. All help will be greatly appreciated!!!

My wife's inbox has over 24,000 messages. I'm moving messages whose senders are the most frequent to folders. This ends up having to move over 100 messages at a time, which is taking forever. Has anyone found a faster way to move multiple messages into one folder?

I know TB used to have a command to search for duplicate messages. Now, after installing the program again, I cannot find this command anymore. Why? Is it me or has it been removed? Thanks.

HELLO! I'm having a problem with some messages. If I receive a message and the program places it in the "Offers" section, then when I try to move it to the "Inbox" section, it disappears. And I can't find it anywhere! This isn't just a problem with the latest version of Thunderbird, but has been for a long time. Today I received several messages from my bank that the program classified as "Offers," but when I tried to move them to the "Inbox" section, they disappeared!! Where are they? It's very frustrating because now these messages aren't even on the server!

I opened Thunderbird and it seems that all my emails from Inbox are gone. They weren't moved to Trash, they were just gone. My folders are intact and also my Sent emails are still there. This is already the second time in 6 months that this is happening. I haven't changed any settings, there were still disk space left, I haven't clicked on anything. If I go to Troubleshooting Information -> Profile Folder -> Inbox and open in Notepad they are still there, however the extent of my IT knowledge ends here. What could be the issue and how can I restore my Inbox?

We manage an email-account in Gmail with 3 persons. We consider to convert to Thunderbird in order to utilize various Folders. Right now all incoming email is either stored with a label or deleted. If one person stores an incoming email, e.g. a quote, in a folder, will this be a local folder ? Is the email still accessible by one of the other persons on a different computer ?

All old cmptr usb ports fail.. copied most data to new computer but Moz. Thndrbrd did not copy. Installed NEW Tndrbrd and got mail, but only last 4 weeks or so since failure. Copied ALL Moz. Thndrbrd files from old to Thumb drive. Old system had 70 files, 10 folders (11*.exe, 31 *dll, 4*ini, 297MB) and 5 single element files. New Thnddrbrd has 72 files, 12 folders, 55.7MB. Could find NO hidden files / folders on either unit. Suspect all recoverable OLD mail on thumb drive but do not know how to recover. H E L P ! ! Had to create a NEW MS Account and am trying to add the associated Outlook mail account. Never had a problem before. Settings are: See attachment. These are the settings given me by Copilot. Am using a newly microsoft-created app password. Been here hours trying to get this done. Have removed and added the account at least 3 times. Have cleared saved passwords again and again. Get the error at the top of the attachment again and again. ANYONE can help me?
