My archive folders have gone out of order alphanumerically. I have tried right clicking the account and selecting "Reset Folder Order" but this has no effect. I have also tried moving folders manually and found that certain folders refused to move. Also after a restart all the folders I have moved appear at the end of the list of folders. This is very inconvenient as I have built up a large number of archive folders over the years. I am on the Release update channel and my version of Thunderbird is up to date (146.0.1 (64-bit)). I haven't been able to upload ab image because I get contstant error message "Error uploading image".

I CAN'T VIEW INCOMING EMAILS? New emails are not showing up in my InBox. How do I fix this? I can see incoming mail pop-up notices, but my Inbox does not show these messages?

Hi, I did something stupid. I accidentally deleted an entire year's worth of emails. I was in the process of archiving them, and mistakenly thought that the originals had been left in the inbox. I thought I needed to re-archive them, so I deleted the copies from the archive folder, and then - this is the stupid part - emptied the trash in the archive folder. When I went back to the inbox to re-archive the emails, I realized they were no longer there. I have not compacted the folder. Is there any way to recover the deleted emails?

After migrating to a new machine I finally have TB set up and running nicely. As I checked the individual settings and C: folders for the e-mail accounts under the server settings for each account (there are two, law and business), and the local folders (for long term e-mail storage, under Local Folders, Local Directory settings), I discovered the C: folder for the Law e-mail account is gigantic - when I check the properties in File Explorer it comes back as 331 GIG, yes, gig. More disturbing is that most of this appears to be "dark matter" that does not "show up." I total the visible files and folders inside that location and it is roughly 150 meg.

For comparison, the folder directory for Business e-mail account is only 24.9 gig, and the directory for the local folder for long term e-mail storage only clocks in at 11.1 gig.

Any ideas why the law firm e-mail account C: drive storage would be this large, with so much of it not visible?

So was having problems with my email server and stupidly decided that if I deleted the account and reset everything I could get it to work. Turns out provider had a problem that has now been resolved. Today I put in the info and setup the account again now works buts I have lost all my old emails and folders. is there anyway to restore the old account information?

      I have a Microsoft Exchange hosted email address with a (mycompanyname.com) domian.   I can check this account via Outlook, but I love Thunderbird so much, I want to sign into this new company account too on Thunderbird.    I know I need to do it via the Exchange Web Services but I get an 'unable to log in at server' error.     See the screen shot attached, is my login field correct?   What should the login field be?  Willing to try any suggestions please!  Thank you,

When I try to add my Spectrum email back in Thunderbird, it failing to connect when I enter my password. When I go to spectrum.net, I have no trouble logging in with my password. Whaat do I need to do to add my Spectrum email.

I need to automatically apply message filters on all messages when copied to a subfolder (in Local Folders) with other filters from other folders and accounts. I copy e-mails to specific subfolder placed in Local folders from several Inboxes. My filters for this subfolder work but only manually applied. The existing conditions when to apply filters do not cover copying messages (copying is not getting new mail or archiving etc) . When i apply filters manually they work but next time i apply manually again all messages are effected - filters does not work only ones as when getting new mail. Is there any way to create filters working automatically and ones applied on some message not to effect it again when filter applied again to this subfolder?

Hi everyone, I am a rank beginner and not very 'computer literate.' I want to download all of my emails from Thunderbird (I have 4 email accounts) and also export them to an external drive, including: All emails (entire history, not just recent mail) All attachments Metadata (dates, sender/recipient, subject, folder info, etc.) Contacts / address book Ideally, a format that I can restore later if needed. My main questions are: What is the best step-by-step method to export everything to an external drive? Is there a way to do this so that the backup is complete and restorable later? Where does Thunderbird store emails on my computer, and can I copy that to my external drive? Is there a recommended way to export contacts too? Any help would be greatly appreciated. A few days ago I lost all of my saved email messages, plus "sent" emails, and "deleted" emails. I had important information stored there for future use. I am hoping to be able to retrieve it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

After deleting a large number of historical emails, including emptying the Deleted items folder, and emptying the Archive folder, Thunderbird restores a large number - but not all - previously deleted emails. Oddly the emails that are restored to the inbox are only ones from 2022. I have gone through and deleted them multiple times but they keep coming back. Any suggestions? Thanks, Simon.

I made a folder and saved emails in that folder. A few days later they were all gone, empty folder. I followed suggestions on here, did the repair, erased password and replaced it, did the subscribe, and now even the folder is gone. I spent hours trying to research this and repair it and now I have nothing.

A new email comes in, it is in bold.

A RESPONSE to my own response comes in, and it looks completely normal! An underline is not "noticeable" enough!

A NEW EMAIL (brand new, or in a thread) should (obviously) generate the same optical indicator -- BOLD.

After an email update this morning, I went in to look at an old email and nothing was there. Checked all my other folders and they were all empty. How and/or can I get them back. Some were ones that I did not need to loose.

I often categorize my mail in differents files and subfolders. This morning I was checking my mail when I discovered that the subfolder "Agile Retraite' under the file called "Retraite" had diseapeared completely from thunderbird. Could you tell me how to get it back ?

I have folders designated A-G, H-Q, etc. and in those folders are subfolders. The A-G folder displays as though it is in Italic font and I cannot move a folder into it.
