As of yesterday, 3/18/25, I can no longer dismiss or pause and calendar notifications. The drop down works but the dismiss or pause doesn't work. All I can do is close the Window. This seemed to start after a Microsoft update/restart. Gee, who'd a thunk it? Jeff

Successfully added monthly-repeating event for the first day of each month beginning at 00:00 hour with duration 0:00. These events correctly appear in another calendar (Google). This also shows there is no confusion between 'monthly' and '4-weekly'.
In Thunderbird's Calendar display, these events do not appear in day, week- and month-view modes, when the first of the month is the first day to be displayed. When the first of the month is positioned further into that view-mode's display then that repeating-event is correctly displayed.
The above happens in Thunderbird's Safe Mode with all add-ons disabled.
Many thanks PS. I am unable to report a bug in Bugzilla due to having lost login-credentials.

It seems lately that when I simply open a calendar entry to see what the contents are, then close it without making any changes, it sends an update to all those involved that something changed (as seen in the picture).
Also, when I accept an invite event and tell it not to send a response, it always does. This has been happening for as long as I can remember, and I cannot figure out a way to stop it, no matter what I do.
Anyone have any ideas for either of these issues?

We have bought a new computer from our tech guy before. This time, all was fine except for the Thunderbid calendar. The 20 GB of email files are all there and email still works. Only the calendar is blank. Our guy admits he dislikes Mozilla and rarely deals with it. Is there any way we can find the contents of the calendar? The old computer is still here in our house, but we only have one monitor. I had birthdays, lots of birthdays setup as repeating events. I hate to lose that.
This is odd as we didn't lose anything the last time we bought a new computer from same guy. We already were running Windows 11, so that is not the issue.

Recently the reminders from my calendar in Thunderbird have failed to show, as if there is a setting that has been turned off. How can I turn them back on again? Thank you. Update: I found for half a day the reminders returned, but they disappeared again. Does anybody have any idea as to what is going on?

For some reason, when I add a new event to one of my Thunderbird calendars, it shows up an hour later when I reopen Thunderbird.
For example: 1) create a new event at 9am and sync 2) close Thunderbird 3) reopen Thunderbird 4) event is at 10am
The native iOS calendar app still shows it at 9am, as does the web interface for the calendar provider (Hetzner webhosting). Once the times are shifted, they stay consistent, but the issue happens again if I try to edit the time an hour back.
I have verified that I am using the New York timezone everywhere.
I have an Outlook calendar in Thunderbird as well (using the Owl plugin), but it doesn't seem to have this issue.
Any thoughts? Thank you!
Can I get this button back with a setting, or is it gone? 140.8.1esr (32-bit)

Hi,
Someone sends me a calendar appointment for 11th of May at 16:30-18:30 and another at 18:30:20:30. I accept these appointments. In my calendar, they correctly display at these times.
When I close and re-open Thunderbird, the first appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May, but the second is fine. When I close and re-open Thunderbird again, the second appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May as well.
The times are completely different too.
I'm using Thunderbird 138 from the Arch Linux repositories but I've also tried the Flatpak package to no avail. I've tried setting my Timezone manually and using my System timezone to no avail.
GNOME Calendar, which is also synced to my Caldav server, displays the appointments at the correct day and time. The web interface for my mail server also displays correctly.
It's only Thunderbird that screws it up time and time again.
This has been going on for years and it is driving me insane. I can't use my calendar with Thunderbird because I keep thinking my appointments are at the wrong time!
Send help.

I got a new PC with Windows 11. I installed Thunderbird 136.0.1 , activated the private calendar, and entered events there. For events with a reminder that have a specific duration (e.g., Wednesday from 10 AM to 11 AM), I receive notifications. However, when I create a full-day event and want to be reminded, for example, 1 day before, I don't receive any notification. Additionally, events with a reminder are not shown in bold in the calendar overview (whether they have a specific duration or are all-day events). Can you please help me?

For many years I have had a Thunderbird Calendar, and have a large number of Tasks set up in it. I have now decided it would be convenient to link it to my Google calendar, so that it also shows on my new Windows 11 machine and on my laptop. I've gone through the process described in the "Create new calendars" article, to link the calendars, and the Google calendar is now appearing in the Thunderbird calendar, but not vice versa. How do I get the Tasks in the Thunderbird calendar to appear in the Google calendar?
I am running Thunderbird 140.7.1esr and Firefox 147.03 on my Windows 10 machine, which I used to set up the link. My Windows 11 machine has the same Firefox build, but Thunderbird 147.0.1, and the Google calendar display is the same, but I haven't yet set up the Thunderbird calendar on the new machine.

Thunderbird v 141.0 64 bit on Windows 11 Hope you can help. I have my main Thunderbird calendar synced with a Google calendar. When I created the sync, the Thunderbird calendar was populated with all the events in the Google Calendar. When I created a new event in the Google Calendar, it appeared in the Thunderbird calendar. When I deleted a recurring event (that originally created in the Google calendar) from the Thunderbird calendar, it was deleted in the Google calendar. All good! But I have created multiple events in the Thunderbird calendar, but they are not appearing in the Google calendar.
Any thoughts? Thank you so much. Best, Stuart

In my Google calendar, I have the automatic birthday calendar. The birthdays of people in my (Google) contact list will appear in my calendar. See the first attached image.
In Thunderbird, I have subscribed to my Google calendar (and Google contacts), but birthdays are duplicated in my Thunderbird (Google) calendar. See the second attached image. One birthday appears to be originating from the Google birthday (red) calendar, and one from my main/personal Google (green) calendar (which has two icons that I don't know the meaning of).
Why are birthdays being duplicated in Thunderbird?
In Thunderbird, I can resolve the issue by unchecking the option to 'Sync from <email address>' in the settings for the birthday calendar in my Google account. See the third attached image. This solves the problem for Thunderbird; see the fourth attached image. But then in my Google calendar, birthdays disappear. See the fifth attached image.
Is there a solution that allows the birthdays calendar to be synced correctly in both Google and Thunderbird without showing duplicates and without disappearing?

Hello Thunderbird Team,
I have 2 Gmail accounts currently linked to my Thunderbird program, and every time I start the app and every few minutes the app is still running, ever since the 15th, it's been notifying me of my account's set birthday on both accounts (main & alt).
And every time I close the event window, click "Dismiss all", or "Snooze all", it throws a 300 MODIFICATION_ERROR popup.
So far, I have not been able to fix the error through Thunderbird's settings, so if you have the solution to this, just let me know!
Best regards, opera
P.S.: I'm not sure if this is the right place to be sharing this on, or if I have to reach out to Google Calendar support instead. If you know where I should be taking this, also let me know!

When creating a New Message, the top 5 lines are missing - i.e the “End: (U)” (end time) line is displayed at the top of the screen. The only way to enter the Title of the Event is to drag the window down. Also, the Event window CANNOT be resized. This has been happening for more than a year now. Can you help? Thanks, M...

I have a professional email address and a gmail address configured correctly in thunderbird. I also have a number of google calendars configured in lightning using the built-in google calendar support (i.e., I am not using the old google calendar plugin). Until recently, when I received and accepted a calendar invitation sent to my professional email address, thunderbird would ask to which calendar I wanted to save the invite. I would select the calendar I wanted and it would be saved appropriately.
A week ago, I created a new google calendar and added it to thunderbird/lightning using the built-in google calendar support. Now, when I accept a calendar invitation, it automatically goes to the new calendar (which is generally not appropriate) without asking me to choose. Furthermore, I am unable to edit these calendar events to change the calendar they are associated with. I have checked the properties of both the new and old calendars and they look the same.
The only seeming solution I found was to make the new calendar read only and disassociate it from an email address, and then undo both those options. For the time being, this operation seems to have gotten back the option to select which calendar invites are saved to. But I would still like to know if this was the correct solution and better understand how thunderbird chooses to save event invitations.
