I-Firefox ye-Android Isithangami Sokwesekwa

Hi. Nowhere can I find a place to comment on the update. I am writing this in the hope that Technical Support will read this and will implement improvements in the future.

I update Firefox to version 79.0.5 on Android. The question is whether it is possible to restore this sharing in some options or do I just have to install an earlier version for it to work?

Before the update, when I shared any page from any browser, I had the option to "share to device" without having to launch the page on Firefox. It helped a lot, flipping the pages to the computer for reading later. Now, this option is unavailable.

Now, in the share menu I only have a "Firefox" icon and the page opens in my browser where I need to find the share icon and then find my device. It takes much more time and is less intuitive. The second thing, previously, the choice of the device was easier to read because the entire name was displayed. Now there is only the beginning part of the name.

I made a screen of what it looked like before (white theme) and now (black theme). Best regards.

as the title already describes, I currently can't get Firefox Sync back running (Android 11). I eventually disconnected the device from the account and tried to reconnect it, which doesn't work at all. It just freezes after entering my password or after confirming that I would like to pair it via firefox.com/pair.

Any idea what might be wrong?

I hope you're doing well in theses days, and your health is good ! A few months ago, I installed with success my own Firefox sync server. It is working like a charm with both desktop Windows and Linux version, but it doesn't work with Android version. I discovered that the client try to reach a bad URL (see my preceding post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1288028). Moreover, with the last version, we can't modify anymore the identity.sync.tokenserver.uri In the Nightly version, this parameter isn't present. Have we any chance to use Firefox android version with a custom sync server ? Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

at first I want to thank you to help me and excuse my English because I am not a native.

My problem is that I can press the "sync now" button in Firefox but nothing happens and it should do the sync automatically. Should. Before I started todays sync the last was on the 17th of December. And to start the sync I have to manually close the Firefox via the Android-App-Info, disable my VPN (Blokada) and then maybe it works. But just the first time I use it. Later on, even with no Blokada (disabled), I would have to close FF again to make the sync work.

My Phone is a Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G and I am located in Germany. It is up to date and runs Android 10.

Firefox is the latest out of the Play Store.

Beforehand I used a galaxy S5, and had no such problems, I also had the Account in the settings of the phone. The Xiaomi does not let me add a explicit Firefox-Account, which also could be a problem, but I didn't find a solution yet (google, reddit and so on, this is why I am asking here).

I've been trying to setup sync between Firefox on my new Note 20 Ultra and my laptop and I keep failing at step #7.

Sync Setup process as I understand it:

1. 1. Login to Firefox on both smartphone and in desktop device
2. 2. From Firefox in smartphone go to Settings -> Synced Tabs then click "Sign into sync"
3. 3. On desktop device, go to firefox.com/pair
4. 4. On the Firefox pairing site, click "Show Code"
5. 5. On smartphone, click "Ready to scan" then scan the QR code on your desktop with your smartphone
6. 6. On smartphone, confirm that the information listed for the device you're trying to sync with is correct and click "Confirm pairing"
7. 7. On your desktop device a page opens that states, "Open your authentication app and enter the security code it provides".

And here is where I hit the snag. I don't understand what authentication app it wants me to use or where this 6-digit security code is supposed to come from. I have used Lockwise, I have it installed on my Note and am logged in, but I don't receive any sort of notification on my phone or on my laptop telling me what security code I'm supposed to use.

Additionally, I have tried using the email method instead of the QR code scanning method to sync and I still end up at a dead-end in the exact same spot in the process. Please help.

Normal logins are working fine, but if I have to sign into sites which require a .htpasswd login, no user and no password will be filled, though the data exists, because on desktop Firefox, it's working without problems.

If you need more information or maybe I can help you fix it, I'll do my best.

I installed Firefox on both my phone and my tablet. As yet, collections and top sites did not get synced. Is it that by design or is there something not working?

I set up a custom ffsync server and I'm using that for a long time now without any issue. However, the recent update disabled the about:config page on Android Firefox. How I am supposed to configure my sync URI now?
