I-Firefox ye-Android Isithangami Sokwesekwa

Hi all, in Firefox for Android (in the following I will always mean "Firefox for Android" when mentioning "Firefox") 78 it was possible to store login credentials, which were used to authenticate on a web proxy. The web proxy is a "squid" web proxy with enabled user authentication.

With Firefox 91 (I have not determined since which version exactly the behavior was changed, we "jumped" from Firefox 78 to 91) the web proxy asks for the login credentials and the authentication itself is working, but Firefox 78 would prompt the question, whether the user wants to store the credentials. This prompt will not be shown in Firefox 91. Additionally I have tested Firefox 98 and 101, there the prompt will be shown and the credentials will be stored (I can look the credentials up in the Firefox Password Manager), but they will not be "auto-filled" when accessing the web proxy again, after closing the Firefox.

My questions regarding this issue: Does someone know patch notes, where this behavior is mentioned? Does someone know, if this is on any "Mozilla Buglist/Featurelist"? -> before the hint will be given "use the search" -> Does someone know, what the underlying mechanism is, so that I am able to look it up?

The + button in the menu that normally opens a new tab doesn't work anymore. The only way to open a new tab is by hitting one of the buttons on the top that normally show the history. When I press the + button either nothing happens or some Chinese add will load, and that ad takes me to a jd.com link that actually doesn't load. I have tried installing a virus scanner, clearing the cache, and reinstalling, but it didn't help. I am using an oppo find x2 pro and am living in China if that helps.

Just thought I'd report this because it appears to be a consistent, reasonably long-standing issue (months) on a popular news site. Or is it "just me"?

Expected behaviour: I am able to open various links on this website as backround tabs and continue browsing.

Actual behaviour: 1. After a couple are opened, Firefox for Android hangs for very close to 40 seconds then does a deep redraw/repaint of all tabs and continues to function until I next try to open another background tab from that website. 2. During the hang tab interface continues to redraw, but the pages are not repainted and no taps events work. 3. At the end of this hang time, the pages appear to redraw from scratch and the context pop-up for the third long-press appears on top of whichever tab I was looking at.

It is 100% repro for me -- long-press fails when attempting to open the 3rd background tab, but repaint failure occurs earlier. There is something toxic happening.

Curiously, when I next view my Android Home screen, there is some sort deep refresh/repaint, as if it has been swapped-out or GC'd etc.

e.g. Is there some massive memory blow-out happening?

Context/workarounds: 1. I have tried clearing all browsing data and using a guess account on the phone. 2. I have no addins installed. 3. Neither Chrome nor FF Desktop exhibit this behaviour. This ia FF Android specific

Hi there Why does Firefox 102.1 Android sometimes show "Install" instead of "Add to Home Screen" in the dropdown menu when I want to add a website page to my home screen? Why does it do this with some sites and not with others? Can I prevent Firefox from showing "Install"? Thanks for any help. Ian

When I try to sign into my account on mobile (the app itself, not the site since clearly on the website I'm signed in) I get to a white screen that shows a bunch of details of my account status. I am not allowed to progress past this screen. Any way I leave that screen, closing the app, using back, praying the 'x' in they lower left corner, reverts my login. So sync is not allowed on FF mobile anymore? I wish they wouldn't still list it as an option in the app if it's depreciated and no longer supported. If this is a bug, well you got me since FF also doesn't allow bug reporting.

I am using Firefox browser on my Samsung Android phone. I set it up to use Firefox password autofill as the default. When entering an ID and password , I am offered a list of IDs and starred passwords, and I cant tell which is the right one, as most IDs are my email. It does not suggest one or two passwords for that particular web address, as does my PC laptop.

I have Firefox installed on my desktop and laptop but cannot download it onto my Galaxy A12 mobile.

When trying through Play Store it constantly informs me “Something went wrong, try again.”

When trying to download it from the internet, the Installation circle keeps revolving and nothing happens.

Do you have any advice please?

Cannot take screenshot of problem (pop up ms from Amazon via Firefox) . . as soon as I pick up the phone or attempt any action whatsoever, the message box disappears. And since I have a fingerprint access option on, the moment my finger touches the screen for full access there is no record of the message for screen capture. Also, if I do nothing, the screen goes black (normal, with time/date etc visible) within a few seconds after the message appears . . though it is waiting for me to touch the screen at which time it reappears again for a few seconds. So it is pick up the phone . . trigger motion detection . . message box appears . . wait a couple of seconds . . black screen . . touch or pick up the phone . . message box . . black screen etc. I can of course do the fingerprint scan and have full phone features, but the preliminary nag "box message" all the time bugs the hell out of me. In the text of my "complaint" I quoted what the message says, it is not from Firefox but does have a tiny Firefox logo upper left. The small rectangular window also has a left/right "full return" arrow (grayed out each one) with a black "pause" button in between the two arrows, and it is not grayed out. However nothing happens if I touch it. In very small print under the main text (first few words of my Amazon review) is a link to the Amazon page where I posted a review of a product. The message itself that I refer to is NOT from Firefox, but is comprised of the first few words of my review headline (not all of it but most) on the Amazon product comment review page. So even though the "content" of the unwanted message is from Amazon, the Firefox logo nevertheless appears (very tiny) in the upper left of the rectangular window, so it appears to be a composite error interaction between Firefox and Amazon. How to tell Firefox to stop posting it? Or how to tell Amazon that their software is somehow involved? I haven't a clue . . ! This is a re-written complaint . . the original one resulted in an email request from "Seburo" who asked for a screenshot, but did not provide a return email address that functioned. I saved a new login on Firefox Android, but this did not sync to the desktop version. I tried syncing manually on both devices (which kind of defeats the point) and still no avail. The option to sync logins is activated on both devices, so I don't know what the problem is. I have tested this twice (two passwords saved on Android) and on both occasions they didn't sync to the desktop.

I also tested the process the other way around by saving a new login on the desktop and that synced to Android just fine!

Please help.
