I-Firefox ye-Android Isithangami Sokwesekwa

Hi, I'm trying to set Firefox as my default browser on my Android, but when I tap on "set as default browser" under settings, I don't get taken to the Default Devices page like I should. It just takes me back to the initial page with the instructions on how to set it.

My phone is an Oppo R9s. Hoping you can help. Cherie

as the title already describes, I currently can't get Firefox Sync back running (Android 11). I eventually disconnected the device from the account and tried to reconnect it, which doesn't work at all. It just freezes after entering my password or after confirming that I would like to pair it via firefox.com/pair.

Any idea what might be wrong?

When I am sending a tab from my Android phone to my PC it all works fine (the tab shows up in a second), but when I send the tab from the PC to my Android device the tab won't show up until I go to Firefox settings-> Firefox account on my android and I click on sync now (even though sync is enabled all the time).

Is there a way to make the Android auto sync all the time without me clicking it?

I never understood why FF eliminated the “open with” option within Android. So as a work around I bookmarked my files by navigating to “file:///storage/emulated/0/Download/”. But now you can no longer navigate to “file:///storage/emulated/0/Download/”, it appears blank. My bookmarked files at these locations return a blank screen as well. Why does FF continue to make it more difficult to open local storage? How can I bookmark an HTML file saved on local storage?

Sending tabs from Firefox desktop (version 85.0, Windows 10) do not arrive to Firefox for Android (version 84.1.4) - phone does not show notification about new tab.

What I do On desktop: Right click on tab > Send Tab to Device > Firefox on <device>. Next I see blue notification on desktop saying "Sent!"

Problem After I send from desktop I do not see notification on mobile device with new tab arriving. Notification simply never arrives.

Workaround On mobile device: (three dots menu) > Settings > Accounts (My Account) > Sync now. All the tabs that I sent previously will arrive now. I have to do this every time I send tabs from desktop.

What I have tried

• Restart Firefox for Android
• Disconnect and connect mobile device to account.
• Check for updates

Are there some additional troubleshooting steps that I can do, e.g. collect logs?

Other notes

• This has been happening for a while now, at least couple of months and I am unable to pinpoint when it started.
• Sending tab from Firefox for Android to Desktop works instantly.
• Bookmarks, Synced tabs and History always sync as expected.
• When I am doing the workaround, in Account settings, below "Sync now" text it always says: "Last synced: 0 minutes ago".

Hi, I found firefox beta the one and only bnowser on Android where I can change the viewport width and thus look at very wide webpages (e.g. scientific) that are designed for laptops. But how can I make a screenshot of such a webpage? That is, not only capture what is actually on the screen in the moment, but the entire webpage. But I really must do this in Firefox Beta, because if I cannot set the viewport width to somet0ing extrawide, then the website will open in a distorted way. I spent a lot of time going through not only the firefox beta menu, but also the settings and the config about page of firefox beta and I am lost. Googling for an hour, I saw that "firifox light" on Android does have a screenshot icon that provides exacly this functionality. Any ideas why this is not there in firefox beta for Android? Or any ideas for a workaround?

I know that private browsing means nothing is recorded. Data is stored in the RAM during that session. When Firefox is closed, the RAM is flushed. Why does cache and data grow during a private browsing in the android settings?
