Invalid URL Errors when trying to access custom Sync Server(rev 532) from Firefox 17.0 for Android via HTTPS

I currently have Sync Server(rev 532) installed on FreeBSD-STABLE(stable/9) and have Firefox 17 on Mac OS X and Windows XP sync successfully. But when I try to pair Firefox 17.0 for Android by entering 3 rows of 4 letter codes into Firefox on Desktop, the sync never ends on Android, although the Sync account gets listed in "Settings> Accounts & sync> Firefox Sync". If I try to pair the Android with advanced setting (using the Recovery Key), I get "Please enter valid server URL" after entering custom server URL (I tried mozsync.mydomain.tld, https://mozsync.mydomain.tld, https://mozsync.mydomain.tld/) along with my account information. I had my Sync Server listen on HTTPS only, but if I setup my server on HTTP, everything works as expected. The content of log file for SSL connection only includes the logs from my Desktop and none from my Android device. Direct access from Firefox for Android to "https://mozsync.mydomain.tld/weave-delete-account" succeeds, and this connection gets logged. My device is HTC Evo 4G (named HTC EVO WiMAX ISW11HT in Japan) with officially updated of version Android (2.3.4 Gingerbread :P) by HTC.

I currently have my Sync Server listening on HTTP, but I am little uncomfortable with my syncing datas being tranmitted without SSL. Any help is appreciated!!!

When I type a seach into the seach bar I get a list of options of the search engines to use:

google amazon twitter wikipedia

I would like to use google.co.uk not google.com (and probably amazon.co.uk and not amazon.com) but can't find out how to manage search engines.

Could someone let me know if that is possible,

cheers,

Malcolm.

Running ESR on Centos (RedHat) 5 & 6. Because of the way my system is set up, I would like to change where Firefox places files when they need to be accessed by another application (e.g. a .doc file). The default is to place them in /tmp, which works for most people, but does not work in my particular installation. (Some of the programs I use to read certain files are actually on a different computer, but can be started automatically from the computer I am browsing on). I need to place these files on a network directory, so the other computer can see them.

I looked in about:config, but do not find anything pointing to /tmp. I am hoping that this is one of those "add a new line to about:config" things that are assumed (based on OS), but can be changed if needed.

Thanks, Ted Miller

I tried the various mobile versions of nojs, noscript & quickjs addons so I can have a button to do the disable/enable easily like on the desktop. The installs fail claiming that they are not compatible with FF17; so why are the desktop versions working with the FF17 desktop?

Is the error legitimate? I have the 4.2 jellybean android in the Acer Iconic A700 which is just an A500 with 1920x1080 resolution.

Hi,

First and foremost, I'm sure this was not the proper category to post that question but I couldn't really figure out a better one. Hopefully you'll forward it to a better place.

We would like to take the advantages of Fennec with out HTML5 framework by wrapping it into a somewhat WebView like you can do on Android. The native implementation of the webview on Android turns out to be very disappointing so far whereas Fennec runs seamlessly.

Could you recommend us any tips to do that properly from the Fennec's Android app project?

Basically we just want to be able to call sort of a new FennecWebView() class instance in our code (instead of the formerly new WebView() ) that will run full-screen and won't call any further things such as, bookmark manager, setting. We just want to scale this down to the very strict minimum in order to run our Canvas framework in a native app thanks to the Fennec's engine.

Thank you very much!

BR,

Armand

Hi everyone!

So, I put my phone in locale ca (from catalan) ES (from Spain), and though other apps have changed to Catalan (whatsapp, wikipedia, gmail...), Firefox have not, but it appears in English. If I change my phone to, for example, French, everything changes to French, Firefox included, but when I change my phone back to Catalan, Firefox was back to English... Isn't Firefox translated to Catalan? I did read here that it is.

Thank you so much for your willingness to help!

Best,

Mariuka

http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/931089

I'm using a custom sync server, and getting "Recovery Key incorrect. Please try again." whenever I click "Connect". The sync log that exists in the desktop version of Firefox is not present in the mobile version, so I have no idea how to debug this further on my own.

I found menu/settings/clear private data from jscher2000's advice while in a website, but I'm uncertain as to what checkboxes to select for clearing history. I want to keep my bookmarks because it doesn't have the porno sites/addresses that attacked me, however the topsites and history does.
