Mozilla is a bit technical for me at 66. How do I load Firefox at the home page? I have lots of other questions for later.

Is there a way to open a website in desktop mode by default when opened through a link created by Add To Home Page? It opens in desktop mode when I open up Firefox and navigate there, but even on tablet with the default mode set to Desktop, opening the site from a home page link always opens in mobile, and I have to switch it to desktop every time.
Change the layout of firefox homepage. the old one is better than this new one. Or add the feature in firefox to use the old homepage layout.

I can't find where to be able to type in a homepage to use. For example use www.yahoo.com as my home page. I've tried to Google and watch YouTube videos to find the solution but I can't find it.
