I have tried to keen a two year old version of Firefox for Android going but finally had to update. I have always used and supported Firefox since the start but I am now loosing my patience with the new development.

All I want is to open a new tab and it will take me straight to my homepage. Something that used to be a basic feature of using a search engine. Now days I have to tap about three times to select my homepage in Google.

I have seen this question asked before on this and no defined answer. I have tried everything.

Why do I have to have a custom Firefox page in every new tab, I don't care about all the noise from sites, preferences - I don't want to know some morose politicians wears pink frilly nickers every time I open a tab... All I want is to simply, easily start my search on Google again every time I open a new tab.

Not much to ask is it?

P.S Yes I have cleared all preferences on Firefox homepage tab. Set Google as my homepage & not using any customised jump back ins. My opening is also set to homepage- doesn't work

So, I have thousands of tabs hoarded that I want to transfer to PC. The normal and obvious solutions would be SYNC, but that outright breaks due to the amount (doesn't return a thing), while SHARE has a bizarre limit of 99 with a cooldown - would take days at that rate. The bug is already reported, but I don't expect that to be fixed any time soon. So, any alternatives?

Hello community, first of all i must say that i find it disappointing and upsetting that we're left between each other if help is needed, that there isn't actually an official resolution centre, to make a report, file a case and be answered by a Mozilla expert directly whenever and try to resolve it 1 on 1,first reason to dump Firefox.

2nd reason, we're in year 2022, yes, we've come a long long way in technology and software development and there's still NO option to make a BACKUP, a clone of your current Firefox profile or have an option for automatic backup from time to time or at least before you do an update etc.

I was updating my Firefox and didn't have enough space so after it downloads the update just won't install it. No worries, easy, freed space and let's try again, success....Or not, as I've LOST all my opened tabs, just gone. Yes sync is on, logged in, activated but what's really point of it??? I think most of us saw it as something in a way of an online backup of our tabs, bookmarks, logins, history, add-ons etc. somewhere in some cloud if something goes wrong to be able and restore stuff not just sync between devices which is also confusing and not syncing asking from/to what to sync between devices.

Why is it so difficult to add a backup option online or on devices storage? I'd literally give anything to be able and get my tabs back but it's impossible as the

After updating to the latest version, I am not able have more than one tab open. When I try to open a new tab or switch between open tabs, the browser starts rapidly switching the original tab and new tab not allowing you to use either. It only stops when all but one tab is closed. This occasionally happened in the old version but only when the original tab hadn't completely loaded before opening the new tab. The icons in the address bar (reader view etc.) are also constantly flashing regardless of how many tabs are open. Any fixes?

Hi!

Version: FF Android 101.2.0 (plus other version stuff I can provide if needed), Android 12

Just thought I'd report this because it appears to be a consistent, reasonably long-standing issue (months) on a popular news site. Or is it "just me"?

Website: https://alightmotionapk.co/mod/

Expected behaviour: I am able to open links and download files on this website as backround tabs and continue browsing.

Actual behaviour: 1. After a couple are opened, Firefox for Android hangs for very close to 30 seconds then does a deep redraw/repaint of all tabs and continues to function until I next try to open another background tab from that website. 2. During the hang tab interface continues to redraw, but the pages are not repainted and no taps events work. 3. At the end of this hang time, the pages appear to redraw from scratch and the context pop-up for the third long-press appears on top of whichever tab I was looking at.

It is 100% repro for me -- long-press fails when attempting to open the 3rd background tab, but repaint failure occurs earlier. There is something toxic happening.

Curiously, when I next view my Android Home screen, there is some sort deep refresh/repaint, as if it has been swapped-out or GC'd etc.

e.g. Is there some massive memory blow-out happening?

Context/workarounds: 1. I have tried clearing all browsing data and using a guess account on the phone. 2. I have no addons installed. 3. Neither Chrome nor FF Desktop exhibit this behavior. This is FF Android specific

Thanks!

I love using firefox on android because of its add-ons support and firefox acount but the ram management seems to be awfully bad compared to other chromium based browsers, even if left for 20 minutes tabs refresh[irrespective of the number of tabs] and it happens way too often that now it is annoying. I do not want to switch browsers because i like using my FF account and sync feature but this annoyance is really getting to my head. Help is hugely appreciated!!!

Hi, hope someone can help! When I close tabs on my Android (not all tabs but usually a few) when I open the app later I find the tabs have returned, is there anyway to make the tabs stay closed? Sometimes I'll close a few then find them randomly back next time I use Firefox. I've been using Firefox on Android for a long time and this has only just started happening. My laptop is not physically switched on so it is not syncing to that. Thanks in advance!

D told me to ask support here.

my Browser was running slow with having hundreds of tabs open (mostly in inactive section), especially after mobile browser update.

Then I just open Firefox, and everything is Gone.

I go download Firefox on my desktop to attempt to backup up any copy of open tabs.

there are none.

luckily I have my history from my mobile saved on to my desktop.

but from what I read and my understanding, there is no way to backup Firefox history, only bookmarks.

what am I suppose to do? any fix? any recovery to access open tabs? or backup history?

(Note; I have tabs on my mobile browser to Never delete tabs. this glitch is Firefox's problem. I probably would've backed up my tabs if it was still working to fix the slowness issue.)
