When on Facebook, Firefox will shut down the network connection so that it can't communicate anymore, no incoming or outgoing traffic through Firefox. I opened TaskManager to try to kill the process, but it leaves a single Firefox.exe process running and it CAN'T be killed. I've tried everything I can think of. In an admin command window, normally Tasklist to check for the process and then Taskkill /IM firefox.exe would work. It comes back with process not found, even though it's in the Tasklist and still running in the taskmanager list.

When trying to kill Firefox, it always says "Firefox is currently running" with the option of close Firefox or cancel. If you select close Firefox, the window just comes up again with the same question while leave Firefox.exe still running in the taskmanager. If you select cancel, the windows goes away and the Firefox.exe process stays running in taskmanager.

So I used Sandboxie (sandbox program) to open another Firefox window to continue, which works fine for a while until Firefox decides to shut down the network connection again. I even tried logging off the user account and logging into a different user account, Firefox is still there, running and still can't be shut down. It's like a bad case of Herpes or Chlamydia or something. Then all I can do is shut down and restart the entire machine.

So to reiterate, Firefox cannot be shut down and removed from the taskmanager process list using the typical right upper corner "Red X" kill, or by way of taskmanager "end process" or "end process tree" and cannot be shut down by an admin command window Taskkill command or logging off and switching users.

I don't know if the "autoscroll issue" is an inherent attached problem or separate, but I have that one as well. I'll be looking at asomething and Firefox with a mind of its own will scroll down maybe 2 to 10 threads, sometimes stop, sometimes continue scrolling all on its own. It's annoying as hell. I will try the layout.css "false" fix and see if that works.

Both these issues only occur on my cheezy 3rd gen motherboard/computer, so the specs for cheezyness...

Folks, my basic settings are "always use private browsing mode". I occasionally run into sites that don't allow this. I see there is the keystroke support for the ability to open a new tab in private mode. Can you develop one to open a tab in non private mode ?? it's a major pain to have to change the main private browsing mode setting to off, use the site that demands it off, then change it back afterwards.

Thanks,

  Tony

I am running Windows 7 (and will not downgrade to one of the newer versions). Firefox has stopped supporting Windows 7 with version 115, which I am currently running. However, I get a pop-up message each time I launch Firefox asking if I want to download the latest version (which cannot be installed).

Is there some way to stop this annoying message from appearing?

The new Mozilla Firefox (version 110.0) does not run after update on my system. After run it shows the window, but this window doesn't respond. The clean installation (of course with profile folder erase) doesn't fix the problem. I have tried both x64 and x86 versions.

The previous version installation (109.0.1) works fine.

There are some screenshots included. I use Windows 7 on Ryzen 7 2700X processor. Could you please advice, what can be done here?

Hello! This is not really a question ... more a comment. This morning when I opened my WIN 7 HOME tower PC, and opened FIREFOX, I saw the notice that this latest release is the latest for WIN 7. That's fine, but I wish to tell you something about WIN 7 PRO & MICROSOFT. Evidently, there is some major user of WIN 7 PRO who has demanded that MICROSOFT continue to support this version. I have two H-P laptops, which I use for Ladder programming. Both are loaded with WIN 7 PRO, and both receive periodic updates from MICROSOFT. So, it would seem that ALL support for these older releases of Windows has not ended. I am in the process of moving all my files & applications from this WIN 7 HOME PC to my WIN 10 tower PC. THANK YOU. robert herold [removed emails from public]

P.S. Had no problem porting the FIREFOX data to the 10, but had a lot of problems doing the same for THUNDERBIRD on this PC to the 10, despite getting assistance from your tech people.

But, the problem is when I reply to a email in print, I keep getting blue lines when I try and type in my replies. The blue occur when I try and correct a problem with my typing out a reply. I first reviewed this old, related post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1366874

Attached below is the console for both the username and password at psecu.com. The actual URL is: https://digital.psecu.com/apps/psecuolb/#_frmLogin

(The username is mama). I think both fields show type="text".

And that leaves me stuck. I also attached screen shots of the login page and the console of the username and password is below.

Username:

<input id="frmLogin_main_tbxUserName" kwidgettype="TextField" kformname="frmLogin" kmasterid="main" value="" class=" sknRInputLogin " autocapitalize="none" autocorrect="off" autocomplete="on" type="text" onfocus="$KW.TextField.onfocusEventHandler(arguments[0],this)" onblur="$KW.TextField.onblurEventHandler(arguments[0],this)" placeholder="Username" maxlength="30" style="text-align: left; text-transform: none; padding: 0px 0px 0px 19px; width: 100%; height: 100%;" tabindex="0" role="textbox" aria-label="Username" aria-level="1" aria-describedby="frmLogin_main_lblUsername" aria-required="true">
